About

A professional photographer for eight years, Jessica Young blends a photojournalist's instinct with a commercial photographer's attention to detail to create timeless portraits and event photography. Jessica's artistic talents extend beyond the lens to her digital darkroom where she uses her extensive technical training to enhance, retouch, and re-imagine her photographs.

From classic church weddings to non-traditional celebrations, from maternity portraits to multi-generational family sittings, Jessica artfully captures her diverse subjects. Jessica's passion for photography and for working with people helps her clients to relax, allowing them to to look their best and let their personalities shine.

Jessica trained at the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology in New York where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Professional Photographic Illustration and her Master's Degree in Business Administration. She continues to learn from the world's best photographers through her memberships in both Professional Photographers of America and Wedding & Portrait Photographers International. Jessica lives in Olathe, Kansas, and works throughout the Kansas City metro area.

I hired JW Photo for our engagement shoot and wedding photography. I was beyond thrilled with how our photos turned out, and couldn't have asked for anything more from Jessica. She was funny, personable, and super flexible. She also provided a schedule of events for the day of that helped me plan all of the days activities. I would highly recommend JW Photo if you want great pictures and a great photographer! Thanks Jessica!!

We could not have found a better photographer for our wedding! Jessica was extremely organized and easy to work with. My husband and I gave Jessica a general idea of what we were hoping to see in our wedding pictures and she definitely delivered exactly what we'd hoped for. With so much planning and energy required for planning a wedding, the photography portion was so simple for us. Jessica was familiar with our venue and knew exactly where to take us for the best shots. We love our photos and highly recommend Jessica!

I was referred to Jessica by a friend and I didn't know how good she was going to be. She was incredibly professional in all interactions. The shots are gorgeous. But best of all, she is GREAT with children! We had a few very small children in our party and she charmingly silly with them which made the time fly for us grumpy old adults. I highly recommend!

Jessica was an amazing photographer capturing every detail of my daughters wedding day. She told the story with her pictures and her artistic ability. It is such a process planning a wedding and I felt like she took such an interest in every step of the way starting from the engagement pictures to knowing our venue and what special items we had planned. Everyone in the wedding party appreciated how easy she was to work with and how organized. She created such a warm inviting experience for all and I do feel like that is an amazing task when dealing with so many people and variables. We will be forever grateful, and hope that she will be avaiable for the other two weddings that we will plan someday:) Thanks Jessica, you were the best!

Jessica did an amazing job!!!! Im so glad we chose her to be there for our special day. I would highly recommend her, not only was she professional but she handled my crazy family very well :-) and all of our photos turned out to be wonderful!!! I can't think you enough Jessica!

Jessica was amazing!!! She handled every possible grouping of pictures amazing. She had a bag of tricks to keep an drunk groomsmen or flower girl focused and smiling at the camera.

Jessica at Young Images Photography really went above and beyond to make our wedding day special. She was very personable and professional, and she had a special talent working with the younger children in our family. Many people asked for her contact information after our wedding. We received our photos in a timely manner, and we were extremely impressed by the quality of her work.
