Experience
Alex Carter has lived in the Washington, D.C. area for more than 25 years, and knows the region — and its people — well. Alex is a lay service leader at Bet Mishpachah, D.C.’s LGBTQ synagogue, and has become a certified life-cycle celebrant. Ruth Potts is also a service leader at Bet Mishpachah, and ordained in the Universal Life Church. Both officiants celebrate the joys of love and happily accommodate any special dedications, memorials, or rituals in a couple’s ceremony.
Services Offered
These officiants are licensed in D.C., Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. They typically officiate ceremonies that are between 30 and 60 minutes. They are happy to allow customized vows — and many other forms of customization — in a couple’s ceremony. Religions they can accommodate include agnostic, earth-based, jewish, pagan, and unitarian beliefs. They can also serve without a denomination.
