Having worked with Julia at friends and family weddings, family portraits, our proposal AND engagement - Julia made us feel so comfortable. Julia felt like family dancing along side us to ABBA, but also captured epic photos of my mother of pearl disco shoes! Julia's style is soft and romantic, but also can bring in some edgy party vibes to capture all sides of our personalities. We loved working through this process with her and also watching Julia bring in new media and tools to continue to grow her artistic craft!

She’s attentive, organized, and unbelievably kind. She took the time to meet with us on several occasions to get to know my husband and me and to discuss what was most important to us. She even learned the names of our friends and family members, going above and beyond every step of the way.
On the day of the event, she provided a full schedule so that every family member (easily over 50 people) knew where they needed to be and what they needed to do. She effortlessly directed everyone, keeping the day as efficient as possible despite all the moving parts.

Also, as a New Haven, CT couple choosing to plan our day at Reading Farms Estate near Woodstock, VT, Julia was also the perfect photographer for our unique situation since she is well connected to both states. This allowed us to book an engagement shoot with her at Harkness Memorial State Park, closer to home, while also looking forward to our big day up in VT. And the engagement shoot was the perfect way to get to know Julia even more. She made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, guided us when we needed it and helped us have fun throughout the whole process. The experience showed us that we could just be ourselves and Julia would be able to pull out the beauty within our moments in front of the camera in a non-invasive and authentic nature. Julia is the secret ingredient to making your wedding day perfect. It’s crazy how everyone warned us that your wedding day will just go by in a flash, because they were all absolutely right! I am so grateful that Julia was able to capture it for us, not just the people and the venue and the cake, but how we all felt during our day. You can feel the love and the joy in the photos, as well as her brilliant eye for composition, lighting, and color. She was instrumental in helping to plan out the schedule for the day and worked brilliantly with our wedding planner and vendors to make the day go smoothly. She was perfectly organized when it came time to do the staged photos with family, making those go by in a breeze so that we wouldn’t have to miss any important parts of our wedding. She made us feel incredibly comfortable in front of the camera when we needed to be, and MOST important for us, she wasn’t at all an intrusive presence during the rest of the wedding. I had told her that I didn’t want to be distracted by a camera in my face during the wedding except for the staged photos, and wow did she deliver on that! I basically forgot she was there for much of the reception and ceremony, and its amazing to see in the photos we got from her that not only was she there to capture every single moment, but her ability to capture us at our most candid and in love was because she was able to disappear into the crowd when needed and photograph the most natural and human moments of the wedding without us feeling like we are “posing” for a photo. Really just magical. We love you Julia!!

As soon as we saw the email that our photo gallery from our micro wedding was ready we could not wait to get home and view them. Excited as kids on Christmas we rushed to see them and then pretty much fell silent in awe of how beautiful they turned out. Every photo is the perfect expression of our day and catalogues the events as naturally as they happened. She captured all the moments of our day that I didn't even realize were happening until I saw them depicted so beautifully, all the expressions of joy and love on people's faces, and all the funny moments with our pets! I knew I loved her style from her portfolio but the photos she took exceeded even what I could ever have hoped for and we will cherish them! Julia also made us feel super comfortable and, because we were having a slightly unconventional, small wedding, tailored her photography and her approach to fit our day. Everyone commented that Julia was such a great photographer and we felt at ease from the moment we met, like old friends.
