We hired JohnnyB’s Entertainment for our wedding and were assigned DJ Grits as our local DJ in Idaho. Unfortunately, the experience was not what we expected. Despite spending significant time filling out their detailed forms and preference sheet, DJ Grits did not seem to have reviewed any of the information. He didn’t have the right versions of the songs we requested for the ceremony, and none of our must-play songs were played.

We asked for explicit songs to be avoided before 8 pm, but this was not followed. He also struggled to stick to the event timeline, requiring our coordinator to constantly remind him of the next activity. There were no transitions between songs—he simply paused or stopped tracks, leading to awkward silences on the dance floor. Several times, the music stopped while people were dancing, completely killing the mood. Every time he spoke, the music stopped entirely, which made things even more awkward, likely due to a microphone issue.

We were hoping for a DJ who could read the room and keep the energy up by playing the right songs at the right time, but that just didn’t happen. Unfortunately, this added unnecessary stress to our wedding day.
