John is an amazing photographer. He took our engagement and wedding photos. We had a fairly large wedding with about 180 people. Our ceremony was at a Catholic church and the reception at a golf course. John got so many wonderful photos. The best photos are non-posed moments that only a great photographer can capture- John was able to capture those moments. He took so many great photos. The cost was extremely reasonable and worth every penny. Having a great photographer at your wedding is so important. You cannot go wrong with John Decker!!!

John Decker's 's a friend and former coworker, and we were elated when he agreed to be the photographer for our April 2011 wedding. He’s worked as a photojournalist, most recently with the Sacramento Bee, was Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s official photographer, and now is out on his own. We had a preference for a documentary-style photographer for our wedding, and that’s exactly what we got. But he also pushed us into a couple of more artsy photos. We trusted him, and he was right. Our photos are fabulous. We couldn't have asked for a more responsible, responsive or amazing photographer. As with our other vendors, he wasn't the cheapest, but he provided great value for his skills and photos.

Nothing short of brilliant, John provided a perfect combination of creativity, passion, skill, and professionalism for our wedding. A true artist, John captured all of our most important moments with a deft touch. John was able to improvise and be flexible with the evolution of our day. He's a great communicator, and we would recommend him to the highest degree. Thanks, again, John.

My husband and I absolutely love the photos of our wedding (and so did our friends- many have ended up using him after seeing our photos). We wanted a photographer who would work with our requests for pictures of guests enjoying the day and providing a photojournalistic flare to our photos, while also giving us a few traditional wedding shots. Boy did we hit the jackpot! John caught countless special moments during the wedding and reception with his natural eye for candid shots, and truly captured the spirit and feeling of the event. He was also able to take many beautiful bridal party photos that incorporated the natural beauty and light of our outdoor venue. It was obvious that years of experience with various styles of photography gave him the tools to take photos that were far above and beyond our expectations. John is extremely talented in his craft, but also has a great sense of humor and is one of the easiest people to get along with. He was professional yet personable, provided helpful direction without ever staging photos, and was always quick to respond to us when we had questions. It is quite apparent that he enjoys what he does, which is reflected in both his photography and how he approaches working with clients. I would recommend John to anyone, hands down. He is a photographer with artful talent, good communication, attention to detail, and the ability to cater his style to your requests. John did an excellent job shooting our engagement, save the date, rehersal, and wedding photos. He's a true professional and we really enjoyed working with him. His photo-journalism background really comes out in our pictures. I highly recommend him.

My (now) husband and I were so fortunate to have John as our wedding photographer this past September. I originally fell in love with his style of photography while browsing through photos of weddings throughout the Sac/SF area and beyond, and I can now say that he was my favorite wedding vendor throughout the entire process.

John was such a great person to work with! We initially reached out to him because we has seen photos he had taken at another wedding that was at the venue we had chosen. The images were beautiful and we couldn't wait to meet with him. During our first meeting, we discussed things we were looking for in both a photographer and in our final images. John was very receptive to our ideas and desires and offered plenty of great suggestions of his own. It was very apparent, right from the start, that he was very knowledgeable and had many years of experience, which gave me peace of mind. We scheduled an engagement session with him and it was a great way to get to know each other and establish a nice working relationship. We were VERY pleased with how our engagement photos turned out and loved sharing them with our friends and family. John was always very prompt when responding to e-mails or phone calls and I always walked away from our conversations feeling like we were on the same page. When the day of our wedding arrived, John and our second shooter Ann were on time and ready to shoot! They spent more than 12 hours shooting that day and were there to capture every little moment. Our photos (over 1600 of them) turned out so lovely and we consider ourselves so lucky to have our wedding documented so beautifully!
