Joe and his team are fabulous!! They genuinely care about their client's big day and tailor to their needs and requests. As a Wedding Planner I highly recommend them!! I am so excited to work with them again this fall.

DJ Joe made our wedding AWESOME and our guests had he best time! He played all our requests and knew how to read the crowd to keep our dance floor full from start to finish. We hired Joe for our wedding reception at Valley Lo in Glenview. Joe did such an amazing job as our wedding DJ, my husband and I could not be happier.

From the wedding party intros, to the first dances, to the after-dinner dance party - all of our guests had a blast. We also went with the uplighting, which added a great element to the reception. Joe kept the dance party going all night, and even incorporated song requests from our guests.

He was on top of all the details (names, toasts, specific songs, etc.) and everything went so smoothly. I highly recommend booking this DJ!

Words cannot even begin to explain how happy we are with DJ Joe Stephen and Standing Ovation DJs. He provided the music, lightening, and special effects for both our cocktail hour and wedding reception on July 14th, 2018. He definitely lives up to all the positive reviews we found on him while doing our research.

First, he was willing to meet with us at a day, time, and location that was the most convenient for us, he was both personal and professional from the very first time meeting him, and we felt very comfortable talking about music and ambiance ideas about our wedding with him. He was very familiar with our venue, the InterContinental, and his set up was perfect with lighting that beautifully matched our theme and colors. We didn’t go big on floral arrangements/decorations, and we’re very happy we didn’t, because we feel like Joe provided everything we needed with the lightening. His special effects wowed our guests and made our night very magical without going over the top.

His music selection was spot on with what we wanted and described to him. He was also flexible with the last-minute changes we made leading up to the reception. He knows his music, definitely knows how to get a party going, and was attentive and took requests at a drop of a hat throughout the entire event. Our guests had nothing but positive feedback about Joe and felt very entertained all the way to the end of the evening.

Finally, his prices were very reasonable, fit perfectly with our budget, and can be tailored to any budget depending on what specific services you’re looking for in your reception. Perfect is the word that keeps coming to mind each time I think about the night, and he was a huge part of making our night very special. I definitely recommend Joe and Standing Ovations; we’re so happy we found him!

We just signed a contract to bring Karl back again for our company's annual meeting with our customers. Karl we great at our last meeting and we were amazed at how many people got up an sang karaoke after a couple glasses of wine. It was a blast! Looking forward to another great party.

Joe was supposed to be our DJ but he had a family emergency the day before. The key is that he found a replacement (Karl) and solved everything before contacting us, which was fantastic. Karl was awesome!! The main road to our venue was closed because of Storm damage from that morning so he (and a large portion of our guests) weren't able to get to the venue when planned, but he got everything set up and ready while not missing a beat. He did a good job announcing everything, but our families were way too talkative so our parents missed our cake cutting (their own damn faults). Just a random tip, try to do your cake cutting before dinner because after dinner no one was paying attention. Back to the review, Karl had everyone dancing the whole night and checked in on us during dinner to make sure everything was going well. We forgot the order of the announcements (my fault) and he helped us figure it all out. He was also gracious with my jerk of a drunk brother and my mom, who had a blast. Ultimately, Karl and Joe were both awesome to work with and I'd pick them again in a heartbeat. We had a few guests compliment them as well. Thank you both so much!!
