Live Music or DJ?

Joe sings and performs solo on acoustic guitar and keyboard. He performs covers ranging from the piano styles of Norah Jones and John Legend to the guitar sounds of Ed Sheeran and Chris Stapleton. Joe can accommodate a dinner crowd with background music, or capture everyone’s attention with his unique twist on today’s top 40 hits. When DJing, Joe’s positive energy and ability to read a room is unmatched and his music collection is large enough to cater to any client’s needs.

Joe Farren’s Bio
Before starting his private entertainment business over 10 years ago, Joe toured as a songwriter and received an Indie Record Label deal. While studying music at the University of Maine, Joe broaden his musical horizons by delving into different genres of music as well as honed his digital recording skills – experiences that benefit him in running his entertainment business today. Joe loves playing weddings because it allows him to perform an array of musical styles from classical and jazz to rock and pop – sometimes all in one night!

Ceremony:
Joe is proficient in classical, jazz and contemporary music but will perform any piano and/or guitar song requested by the Bride and Groom. Instrumental or Singing – or a little bit of both – you choose!
Cocktail/Dinner Hour:
In addition to the traditional jazz cocktail repertoire, Joe’s impressive list of cover songs spans all generations and genres of music. He will perform hits by the likes of Elton John, Billy Joel, Van Morrison, Dave Matthews, Jason Mraz, Frank Sinatra, Zac Brown and much, much more!
Reception:
Years of performing has provided Joe a comfort level behind the mic that only experience of that nature can achieve. His MC style is very easy going but never overbearing and the focus is always on the Bride and Groom. The music usually starts out traditional and builds as the night progresses. Joe knows how to read your crowd’s energy and plays songs that will keep your guests entertained, and the dance floor packed, all night long!

We loved the mix of live performance and DJ; it gave our day a classy, elegant feel early on and then turned into a full-on celebration at night. Our guests credited the entertainment as one of their favorite parts of our wedding, and our dance floor was packed all evening.
Leading up to the wedding, Joe was a great communicator. He made sure every detail was confirmed ahead of time, and anytime I had a question, he responded quickly, usually within hours. He completely understood the vibe we were going for and brought it to life.
