Jessica Palmer was referred to my by another makeup artist who was not available on my July wedding date. She was very friendly and had decent prices so I was excited to meet with her. I met Jessica in her home and she was very warm and welcome. It took about 2.5 hours the first time I met with her to discuss the look of my wedding and the look I was wanting for myself. She asked me to bring in pictures from magazines that had makeup looks that I liked and then proceeded to ask me why I liked them. She was able to take all of my rambled thoughts and mixed opinions and transalte them into an accurate description of what I really wanted. And then the makeup application began. I thought it was strange at first because she started with my eye makeup before she ever touched the rest of my face. When she explained that it's because all of the eye makeup can fall on your cheeks during application and it's much easier to make corrections if you do the face makeup last. This made a lot of sense to me when she explained it. Jessica also does eyelash application which I took full advantage of.
I actually ended up going for a second consultation with Jessica because the look that I thought I wanted changed drastically and I wanted to see how my face would look on my wedding day before the day actually came. Both times Jessica worked absolute magic. And not just with me! Jessica actually did my mother's makeup as well. My mom hardly ever wears makeup and is pretty skeptical about anyone being able to make her look "good" when all that means to her is fake. But my mom was completely surprised and thrilled at the look Jessica gave her. It took 10 years off of my 60+ year old mama!
Jessica was fun to be around and chat with and totally calmed me down on the big day as her chair was the last I sat in before the ride to the church.
