With over 14 years of professional experience under their belt, Jess has become one of the most popular spinners in markets across the East and West coasts. They mix everything from house, to hip-hop, to 80’s hits. Reno Tahoe Magazine said it best, "In a scene full of testosterone, Jess the Ripper brings a fresh and unique approach to the art.”
After winning Reno’s Biggest Little City DJ Battle at age 20, hosted by EDGE Nightspot, Jess landed residencies all over the city and hasn't stopped dreaming since. This win gave Jess the opportunity to open for celebrity DJ, Spryte, one of Jess' favorite DJs. Jess solidified their spot by being voted Reno’s #1 Party/Club DJ 2011 & 2012 by Reno News & Review. Jess next took their talents east, to Cincinnati, Ohio. Jess the Ripper landed residencies in the top bars and clubs around the city, and became the resident DJ at Horseshoe Casino/JACK Casino, (now Hard Rock Casino) after less than a year living in the area. Jess played everything from corporate events, fashion shows, to the Citybeat's 'Best of Cincinnati event', where they were named Top #2 DJ in the city in 2015 and 2016 during their three year residency in Ohio!
Jess the Ripper has raised the bar on a new challenge in the Pacific Northwest, to Portland, Oregon, where they were recently voted #2 ’Best DJ in Portland’ for 2022. They are currently booking corporate events, weddings, and nightclub events in the PNW markets, leaving some room for travel gigs. Jess has played for the Human Rights Campaign’s 'Gala', various RedBull corporate events (including the Kentucky Derby), and was featured DJing on a float in the Cincinnati Red's Opening Day parade and PRIDE parades across the country!
Jess the Ripper has opened for celebrity artists such as British multi-platinum recording artist, Ellie Goulding, Karmin, three-time Grammy winning group, The Temptations, and God-Des and She, to name a few. Playing with Producers and DJs- Spryte, Loczi Prima Volta, Playboy's Crystal Harris, the World's Youngest DJ, DJ Baby Chino, Team Bayside High, and many more. Definitely book Jess!
Jess is the absolute BEST
We were really stressed at the beginning of our wedding because it was going to rain COMICALLY hard and be much colder than we anticipated. But Jess came to save the day, and mixed an incredible set that got everybody on the dance floor.
They truly listened to our recommendations for our reception playlist, and added some in that we just would not have thought to add to it because well… we just don’t know what the cool songs are that people will respond to :) the transition to each song was amazing and unique, and we got so many comments from our guests about how great of a DJ we had. It was so so much fun and I one thousand percent recommend hiring Jess for any event. They clearly put a lot of work and careful thought into creating a seamless playlist that was the perfect amount of nostalgia and trend. The playlist had the perfect build, starting with some songs from our youth to get people grooving (like Backstreet Boys) and moved to more trendy dance songs while still staying true to a lot of the music my husband and I love.
In addition to just absolutely RIPPING (pun intended) it up with the music, Jess is genuinely an awesome person. They were so supportive and inclusive in their interactions with our guests, and with a wedding day already being as stressful as it is and then adding inclement weather to the mix, they were such a warm, composed and uplifting presence that made us remember what this day was really about: celebrating our love while surrounded by our closest friends and family.
We are so grateful to have had them be part of our special day and hope we have an opportunity to hire them again.

Best dj ever!
Their setup was incredible with high quality equipment and sound that effortlessly filled the space. We gave them a list of some songs and a general vibe we wanted (ie. no disco!) and they took it from there to select the perfect mix of light tunes for the early mingling, dinner music that paired perfectly, and an evening of kicking dance tunes that got even my teen sons out on the floor.
One area they really shined was during the speeches. We had a tragic death in the family that morning and no eye was dry still in the evening. Jess was patient, empathetic, and kind. They especially helped my wife with a kind word when she needed it to get through her speech. Thank you, Jess.I cannot recommend Jess enough. Thank you for helping make our reception memorable, fun, light, serious, and loving to all.
