Stop looking and book Jenn!
Stop looking and book Jenn. If you book her, rest assured you will have the most professional, efficient, kind, fun person taking timeless pictures that you will treasure regardless of your style.
A little bit about me and why you can take me at my word. I am a Type-A event planner from NYC who has done weddings, so I really understand the logistical side of big events. As a bride, I was really detail-oriented and wanted to make sure that I communicated my expectations clearly. I am so detail-oriented that I wrote out a list of all the pictures that I wanted Jenn to capture (all the family members that I wanted in pictures plus moments like my groom’s Dad putting on his cuff-links). Looking back at my wedding, that list was so unnecessary because not only did she capture the moments I wanted, she exceeded my expectations and had way more creativity than I could imagine.
Which is what you want right? Because on the day of your wedding you have to trust the professionals you hired to do their job so that you can enjoy marrying your person with your people standing by.
When I think back on the day and the joy that Jenn was to work with I’m so thankful! I mean homegirl showed up to the bridal suite with antique stamps and lace to photograph the rings. Like I would not think of that. She also had so many other thoughtful details and moments that she captured that I absolutely treasure. Like, she put our rings in my bouquet because I had a protea feature flower that is velvety and beautiful!
For more relaxed brides who are reading this and are thinking, “I just want my pictures to look good, I don’t really want to make that many decisions,” stop reading and just book Jenn now. For type-A brides who are reading this right now, I hope I put you at ease but rest assured I’m about to review the process from booking to-day of.
The Booking Process:
While I was looking at other photographers Jenn actually reached out to my husband because they went to school together. Jenn’s photos stood out to me because: the composition of each photo pleased my art school soul, everyone looked natural and comfortable, she made sense of color and played off backgrounds so nicely, and it was clear she could do any style.
I didn’t see many candids of the dance party on her Instagram, which was important to me, so I reached out to her with examples of pictures I liked of a wedding dance party. In response she gave me links to her bride’s published photos of their dance parties. Another professional thing Jenn did right off the bat was send Jay and I a questionnaire so that she would have all the details of the day. It only took 30 min to fill out, but she literally asked for every detail: numbers for all the vendors, special items that need to be photographed, Timeline, any uncomfortable family situations she needs to know about that would make for awkward photos 😂... all the deets.
Trust me, you want a photographer who does this so that you can enjoy the day!

This was easy, and reminders from her were friendly and informative..
Day of:
Ok ladies, here is the "day of" deets. Like I said Jenn showed up to the bridal suite with lace and antique stamps to take pics of our rings. She went to work right away taking advantage of the light in the room and making everyone feel comfortable. (My friends thought she was my friend from college, not Jay’s). Jenn had awesome ideas for photos with me and my bridesmaids that I hadn’t thought of, some so funny! She escaped to the groom's suite to take pics too and I LOVE those photos!
The time Jenn really went above and beyond is when both bridal parties arrived at the venue before the ceremony! Jay and I got married in the winter, so I was fully prepared to have all of the wedding party pictures taken inside. We had about 30 min before the ceremony was to start and the sun was setting. Jenn had the idea to sneak outside to get pics of the bridal party. The bridal party ninja-snuck out of there without the grooms, men, or guests seeing and took pics against this awesome brick wall. Then the groomsmen snuck outside and did the same. THESE WERE SOME OF MY FAVORITE PICS FROM the WEDDING. I was so glad Jenn thought to do it!
The rest of the night was wonderful and a blur. We took more photos outside after the wedding and they are amazing. Jenn whipped through all the family members we wanted to get pics with such efficiency you would think we had those "your table's ready" buzzers from the Cheesecake Factory.
The biggest feeling I came away with was this: here was a couple (her husband took pictures too) who was genuinely happy for us and took such care to capture our special day.
