Over the years we have hosted dozens of fairy-tale oceanfront weddings, anniversaries, vow renewals, bachelor and bachelorette parties. At Casa Rio Mar and Casa Rio Mar Grande we ensure your destination dream wedding comes true. Many couples are now thinking outside the chapel. One in four couples now choose to board a plane and fly to a tropical location far from home and far from formal black-tie affairs. A recent study found 58-percent of brides want their wedding and reception to be remembered as a fun, casual time. No wonder so many couples are hitting the road for their nuptials to exotic leisurely locations such as Jaco Beach, Costa Rica.

We have learned from experience a destination wedding allows the bride and groom more quality time and opportunity to truly interact with their family and best friends especially when everyone stays at the same place such as Casa Rio Mar and next-door Casa Rio Mar Grande -- which accommodates up to 60 guests, -- in beachfront luxury complete with two tropical swimming pools and a large elevated sun deck overlooking the ocean perfect for sun tanning or hosting a reggae or salsa band. The average number of guests at a destination wedding is about 60 – perfect for our location. Coming Soon, January 2025 we are adding 5 brand new villas next door to these two beautiful beachfront homes. You will have in total, 7 luxury villas that can accomadate up to 140 people. We take care of all the details from your pastor & proper marriage license paperwork, your wedding cake, your photographer/videographer, your catered reception & other meals, your transportation – everything -- leaving you free to enjoy your people and not sweat the details. We strive for perfection and can accommodate just about any reasonable request.

In choosing Casa Rio Mar your wedding photos and videos will take place in extreme tropical beauty on a truly magnificent National Park-like photogenic beach where the rainforest mountains comes down to kiss the sea. Time your wedding ceremony to the backdrop of a dramatic blazing sunset.

The international airport at San Jose, Costa Rica is only a 3-hour flight from such cities as Orlando, Houston, New Orleans, Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. The airport is 62 miles from Jaco Beach. We will pick you and your guests up then deliver you all to your wedding destination at our magnificent and modern home on the beach where world-class surfing is right out the front door.

Besides cost then comes weather to decide where to go. The Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica boasts on average 300 days-a-year of sunshine with average daytime temperatures in the 85-to-90-degree range. The rainiest months of the year are October and November.

Another thing to consider is most couples have friends and family in different locations around the country and the world so everyone flies in and meets up. Destination weddings are the great geographical equalizer because they take place in a neutral spot and since our location is largely new to everybody, your big day will be every bit as exciting for your guests as it is for you and have real stress-free fun doing it. This beach town has everything – great restaurants, sports bars, casinos and night life.

Costa Rica and especially Jaco is a place with a lot of punch with lush tropical rainforests, exotic wildlife, waterfalls, volcanoes and spectacular beaches. At Casa Rio Mar we can book any adventure tour available in the region from deep sea fishing, sunset horseback riding on the beach, zip-lining across the tree tops waving at monkeys, ATV mountain trail rides, SCUBA diving and snorkeling – all of it. Coming Soon in Janauary 2025 our wedding venue will have 7 vacation villas that can accomodate 140 people. We currently are buidling 2 7-bedroom villas, 2 5-bedroom villas and 1 12-bedroom villa. Between all 7 villas you wil have 52 bedrooms, 50 bathrooms, 68 beds. The villas will be privately gated with 24/security. Perfect for bigger weddings. You can rent one, two, three or all of the villas.
