The year 2011 was a big year for Inspired Occasions. Catersource named them winner of the coveted ACE award—Catersource's Achievement in Catering Excellence. The same year Kansas City named them winner of Kansas City's "25 Under 25" Small Business Award.

Each year from 2002 through 2012 readers of Ingram’s Magazine—Kansas City’s monthly business and industry magazine—gave Inspired Occasions the Gold for The Best Caterer in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The readers also named them Best Event Design Company in 2008 (Silver) and 2009 (Gold).

Kansas City Magazine awarded them Best Caterer in 2005, 2007, and 2011; and The Independent named them Best Caterer from 2004—2009. The Pitch magazine named themBest Caterer in 2012.

The Independent named Inspired Occasions as Best Personal Chef from 2004—2009. Stewart Lane, in 2012 became a Contributing Food Trends Editor of Catersource International’s Catersource Magazine. And in 2013 Stewart was selected a KC Business Magazine Rising Star.

In 1991, Lon Lane founded Inspired Occasions as The Catering Company, serving the desires of Kansas City’s most prominent citizens and corporations. Since then, the name has changed, but Lon continues to impress, innovate and shine with the coveted event-planning and creative presentations of Inspired Occasions.

Our 30 full-time professionals and on-call staff of 75 can handle events ranging from intimate dinners for two to major events for 6,000 or more guests. Throughout our history, Inspired Occasions has proven time and again that our passion for unique food preparation and customer service are unmatched as we create an unforgettable event for you and your guests.
