We had the most perfect wedding weekend at Hotel Canandaigua. From start to finish of the weekend, everything exceeded our expectations. We hosted our rehearsal dinner there the night before, celebrated our wedding day onsite, and even enjoyed the pool with our wedding party the next day—it truly felt like a full weekend celebration all in one place.
The venue itself is stunning, both indoors and outdoors. We were the first to try a new ceremony setup that I came up with, with chairs arranged on the upper cement patio overlooking the water, and it could not have been more perfect. The serene lakefront setting created the most beautiful backdrop for our vows. The ballroom was equally amazing—spacious, elegant, and flawless for our reception. The getting ready rooms on site are great for convenience and beautiful. The added perk of the Presidential Suite the night of the wedding is great and allows for perfect balcony photos.
Kristen, who runs the new ownership team from Nolan’s Catering, is absolutely incredible. She goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly. I planned a lot of personal details for our day, and the staff didn’t miss a single one. The service team was attentive, kind, and quick to respond to anything we or our guests needed.
The food deserves its own special mention—under Nolan’s catering, it is AMAZING. We lost count of how many guests told us this was the best wedding food they had ever had, and several even said it was the best wedding they’d ever been to. From cocktail hour to dinner, everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We had three bars set up throughout the evening, and not once was there a line for drinks—something guests appreciated so much.
If you’re looking for a venue that combines breathtaking views, modern and elegant event spaces, incredible food, and a team that genuinely cares about your day, Hotel Canandaigua is the place. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more, and we couldn’t recommend this venue highly enough.

Our wedding at Hotel Canandaigua was spectacular! We dreamed of getting married on the water and this was the perfect location. Incredible views and a gorgeous hotel with beautiful spaces for all our events! We ended up hosting our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour, & reception at Hotel Canandaigua and we are so happy with how everything turned out. Noelle, the catering & sales manager, helped us through the whole process and Evan, our day of coordinator, worked his butt off to ensure the weekend went smoothly. Even though we were their first large wedding since opening in mid-2023, they handled everything professionally and ensured the day was everything we wanted it to be. We felt prioritized by everyone on the staff and everyone who worked at our wedding was so kind and helpful. The food at the rehearsal dinner & wedding was amazing (so many people complimented the food!) and the ballroom is so beautiful and unique - it doesn't feel like you're in a basic hotel ballroom. Plus, everyone utilized the gorgeous outdoor spaces during the cocktail hour & reception. The nearby Kershaw park & dock on the lake provide so many location options for photos so you can get a variety of shots without leaving the property. Our guests loved having the option to stay right at the hotel as well! We are so happy with our decision to host our wedding at Hotel Canandaigua and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful venue in the Rochester/Finger Lakes region!
