History

William Merk is the founder of HoliMont, who began immersing himself in his passion for skiing after witnessing the 1932 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid. In 1961, he purchased land to start a resort, which opened the following year. Over the decades, the family-friendly locale continued to expand, becoming the retreat it is today.
