Karen Coon at the Holiday Inn was able to coordinate our reception in the time less than a week. We had planned an outside reception; however, rain was in the forecast. So we quickly changed our location of the reception to the Holiday Inn in Auburn, CA. I was so happy with the results. It turned out to be magnificent.

This is a very nice hotel but I would not recommend booking a block a rooms for a large event (such as a wedding). The wedding "block rate" offered to our guests was more expensive then just booking the room online a few days in advance. Once our block rate expired they staff was turning my guests away which many of them found other establishments to stay, even though the holiday inn still had plenty of rooms. Go to find out that they did this just so we wouldn't meet our 20 guest minimum to get a complimentary room for the bride and groom. We had 17 rooms booked and they turned over 5 guests wanting to book rooms away.

I had the most rude lady emailing me when I was trying to get information to reserve a block room that I finally went to the other place next to them. The rates there were outrages, I asked her if we could lower the price for the guests and she flatly said no.
