We had our reception in the Georgian Ballroom and it was PERFECT!!!! Thank you all at the Holiday Inn for making our wedding the perfect event. We stayed there a few days before and after the ceremony is a very fair priced suite. The staff were flexible and worked with us to create the perfect event. We could not have been happier! I would recommend this venue to anyone!!!! Thank you!!

The food provided by the Holiday Inn catering staff was excellent. Everyone at the reception raved about it...and continues to rave about it. The food was an incredibly good deal.

I had my reception in the main ballroom of the Holiday Inn Athens, and it was a huge disappointment. The ballroom was supposed to be set up the night before the wedding, but when I went to add some table decorations the morning of, nothing was set-up. I had to spend precious time after having my hair and make-up done running around the ballroom trying to get everything right--missing out on many photographs with my family that we never did take. Then, during the actual reception, the entire main dish of dinner was completely different--and FAR less appetizing--than what my husband and I tried at our tasting. The wedding coordinator left after the salads went out, leaving the banquet captain in charge, but then after dinner and cake-cutting the banquet captain asked us if she could send the staff home. We told her as long as they cleaned off the tables before that it would be fine. What we didn't know is that she also sent the bartender and herself home (!!) so there was NO staff left to attend to our guests after about 10:30 at night (we had booked the room until 1am).

Another manager did step in to bartend, but didn't know what was going on and ended up running out of 2 kinds of beer and 1 kind of champagne (at a New Year's Eve wedding!). Right before midnight this same manager was MIA, forcing my dad (father of the bride) to pour drinks for everyone to toast the new year with. On top of everything else, before the staff left they took the best man (aka the groom's brother) aside and showed them how to set up the projector that we'd planned to use to watch the NYC ball drop--basically, they asked a GUEST to WORK at their own sibling's wedding!! Unbelievable.

To be fair, their prices were great (why we chose them initially), especially because they had given us a discount on the ballroom because it was an "off-peak" date. And after we complained about everything they refunded the entire service charge (18%) plus $3 per plate for all the food that was wrong--but honestly I would of rather paid for a perfect reception.
