Richard & Michelle provided excellent customer service, and we really enjoyed working with them as we selected our wedding bands. Richard is a true professional, and he did a wonderful job of pairing my wife's wedding band with her engagement ring. Hegeman & Co is a small store located in the heart of Providence. Mr. Hegeman has been there for decades and is a truly classic jeweler. Michele is who my fiancee and I worked with and she was phenomenal. In addition to knowing all the specs and logistical details, she was able to work with my fiancee to make sure he found a ring for me that he truly Loved. She was never pushy or trying to sell more to make more money for herself. Michele knows how special engagement and wedding rings are, and she helps you to figure out what is the best fit for you - based on your personality, profession, budget, and preferences! When looking for my engagement ring, my fiancee went to a handful of places in Providence but felt like people were always trying to get him to spend more. Michele listened and helped him find what he thought I would want - and I indeed love my ring!

Michele is phenomenal, and the jewelery at Hegeman is of excellent quality. They are timely, responsive and very professional.

I dropped off two antique pieces at Hegeman & Co; one for a repair and the other for a modification. I was reassured by Michelle that no work would be done on either piece until Richard (the jeweler) had looked at them. Once Richard looked at the pieces, Michelle told me that they would call me to discuss the game plan before any work was done or attempted.

To my surprise, I got a voicemail 4 days later that my items were ready for pickup.

I went to the store 2 days later, both Richard and Michelle were there. I told Michelle that I was really surprised that they did any work on my items when I had requested to know the proposed design of the modification and pricing in advance.

Well, my comment to Michelle set off a firestorm! Richard grabbed the pieces from my hands while holding pliers and threatened to destroy them. Michelle, meanwhile, told me that my items were "fake" and that I had been "foolishly" ripped off.

I had to repeatedly ask Richard to give me back my property and to not to destroy my items. As I was considering a call the police, Richard handed me my pieces and I hightailed it out of the store.

Ladies, do not go to this store alone.
