Fantastic quality and quantity!

We were so grateful that Hardesty Haven would cater and deliver to our small group of 20 during the covid pandemic. The quality and quantity of food was fantastic. Our choices were enjoyed by everyone. Thank you HH.

AMAZING FOOD!! The cook everything on site which I think makes for a better taste in food. They even helped out my friends that don't eat certain foods since they make their food on site it was that much easier. Even after changing my mind the day before they were still able to go with all the changes and give advise towards the day and what has looked best over the years. Very thankful I was able to find them and have them for my wedding. I couldn't ask for more.

Hardesty Haven Catering was wonderful! They have such yummy food and at a great value. The food is like a home-cooked meal and is primarily country cooking (the best!). Dee and her crew did an awesome job for both our rehearsal dinner and the reception food. They are so pleasant and accommodating - great to work with! We attended a wedding 5 years ago and liked the food so much that we kept them in mind. When it came time to plan our own special day, we went straight to them. In fact, we would only pick a venue where we could use our own caterer because we wanted them that much. Check out their website for pricing and menus. We would definitely use them again!

Great people terrible business model

We hired Hardesty Haven catering because they were a recommended vendor from the venue thinking it would be easy. While Dee was very sweet I personally did not like their business structure. Do not bother emailing these people you will never get a response you will have to call multiple times to ensure everything is on track. While we did receive the main entrees i noticed the day of my event the potatoes were replaced with green beans instead and i wasn’t made aware. I liked the food otherwise my family are very picky and the fried chicken was really good everyone liked it. Dee and her husband were also very kind to cut up slices for our guests as the venue did not handle food. Pricing of course was not bad but I would recommend them for mainly family style gatherings small events and such, just in case menu items aren’t available and they make changes seems less stressful when you’re only hosting family.

There is a reason you can’t find reviews for HHC on the wedding websites. When my husband and I first met Dee, she was sweet as pie. Combine that with their rock bottom prices (the cheapest in Calvert County that we’d come across) and we were sold. We ended up booking with HHC over 12 months before our wedding. They told us that they weren’t able to do tastings (weird, right?) and that if we wanted to try something on the menu, we’d have to come to an event where that particular item was on the menu and they would make us a to-go container. Communication from Dee was few and far between; it would take weeks for her to respond. When she finally did, she told us she’d be catering an event at the firehouse, and we could come grab a to-go box. We thought finally we’d be able to try the chicken! We showed up on time and Dee was nowhere to be found. Actually there wasn’t any kind of event going on at all. The next day she brushed it off like no big deal and told us she’d let us know when chicken came back on the menu. I had to follow up regularly because Dee never reached out to us. Long story short, two months before the wedding we hadn’t even tried the chicken (big part of a dinner menu) so I asked again, when we might be able to try it. Dee responded that she was cancelling on us and we were forced to find a new caterer. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because their food (the little we tried) was absolutely disgusting. Their beef was so dry and leathery, and their broccoli was seasoned with something that should NEVER be put on broccoli. I couldn’t even eat it. Aside from that, their “big hit item” is just cheesy potatoes with corn flakes crumbled on top…... but again, they are cheap. Just be prepared to not be able to taste any of their food and possibly be cancelled on two months before your wedding. Beware.
