Ashlee honestly felt like one of the bridesmaids. She made everyone – from my younger sister to my mom and mother-in-law – feel comfortable and beautiful. She worked quickly, yet still managed to create stellar hairstyles while keeping up a personal conversation. I love how she gave my sister a braided hair style that was reminiscent of mine, which felt like a thoughtful yet subtle way to identify her as the maid of honor. She did such an amazing job with my hair – I had no idea that my usually flat hair could have so much volume and texture! And it managed to look perfect for 14 hours with no touch ups. A week later, I went back to Ashlee to get a big chop and amazing highlights before my honeymoon. Could not be more grateful for her!

Came on here to write a review on my experience with Ashlee and noticed the negative review on here - just have to say I am really stunned by it! I had an AMAZING experience with Ashlee. She did such a beautiful job on both myself, my mother + mother-in-law, and all 10 of my bridesmaids. All of the girls had very different hair and got different styles, and she and Tammy nailed it. Every single girl loved their hair. My mom and mother-in-law decided last minute (once they saw how good everyone else looked!) that they wanted their hair done too, and Ashlee and Tammy stayed late to do them. They made sure everyone looked their best. I truly felt so beautiful on the day of my wedding, and that was a huge thanks to Ashlee.

Not only did everyone's hair look great, but they were just FUN to be around. I really wanted to just enjoy the day, getting ready with all my best friends. It's easy to get nervous and in your head the day of your wedding and that is the last thing I wanted! Tammy and Ashlee blended so seamlessly with that energy.
So - if you are looking for someone who is very talented at their job and a joy to be around, I HIGHLY recommend!!

(also I just have to say - Ashlee was incredibly transparent about pricing with me, and always responded in a timely manner)

This hair situation for my wedding was such a mess that it borders on comedy.

* Ashlee was over an hour late on my wedding day because she didn't set an alarm.

* Her lateness put us behind schedule, so we had to skip certain photos (we were going to take pics at a covered bridge down the street but didn't have time to move to another location).

* For some reason she went off script and tried a messy boho look, rather than the clean updo I wanted (and had at the trial), so I kept asking her to pin things back after we were "done".

* Afterwards, as we were posing for wedding party photos, Ashlee ran after us to talk about something she spilled on the furniture. While I appreciate the honesty, it seems like this sort of thing should be an e-mail...rather than interrupting someone's wedding portraits ??

* She then took her OWN photos of us as we were doing portraits and posted them to Instagram. Which isn't a huge deal, the day isn't top secret, but it seems weird that she posted photos before any of our own friends or family shared photos.

* It was also difficult to communicate with Ashlee leading up to the wedding. The first time she fell off the radar, it seemed to be for very legitimate personal reasons. But then a month leading up the wedding, she was STILL hard to track down, and there was always some other excuse ("oh I thought I responded to this", "oh my business line is down")...and by then it seemed too late to find a new hair stylist.

* Lastly, she updated the contract a week or so before the wedding (to add one service) and was sneaky about changing other costs in the process...including double the fee for travel vs. our original contract. This all seemed sketchy, but I didn't have the emotional energy to start an argument so close to our wedding day, and I just paid the difference at the time.

One other comment, and this is just a matter of personal preference: Ashlee is really not a fit for chill brides. I wanted a relaxing morning getting ready with the moms and a few close friends, some coffee and banter...I am in my thirties and not a "woo girl" anymore, especially not at 11am ;)

Ashlee seems to interpret mellow as sad and kept trying to hype me up, or take me aside to have a "heart to heart" assuming that I was overwhelmed by the day. (I was actually in my element and really enjoying the quiet morning, the only semi-stressful thing was having a hair stylist who showed up over an hour late lol.)

Looking back, everything else went so smoothly at our wedding that the whole ordeal provides some comic relief, and we joke about the "crazy hair lady". But I would recommend y'all stay far, far away!
