John worked over the course of several meetings to pick out the perfect ring for me and I could not be happier! We have gone back a few times during our search for wedding bands. John picked a few and ordered them so we could look them over and decide what was best for us. Instead of buying new we decided to have them make a custom band that better matches the details in my engagement ring. I cannot wait to go see the final ring!

We had a great experience at Giannini. My husband got my engagement ring there. Although I wasn't involved in that process, he told me that when he first went in, John spent at least an hour explaining the four Cs, and showing him examples of all of the different colors, inclusions, etc., and pricing for each, so that my husband could make a really educated decision. And the result was an absolutely gorgeous ring. For our wedding bands, I could tell from the moment we walked in that we were in great hands. They treated us like family, and worked with us to get exactly what we wanted at a very fair price.

My fiance has used Giannini Jewelers many times and has always had a perfect experience there. For that reason we decided to use them to size down my engagement ring which is from the 1920's, a truly gorgeous vintage ring, though we did not buy it from Giannini. I've only been in the store one time to size the ring. The owner was super friendly and the woman who helped with the sizing was great and helpful. My fiance went yesterday to pick up the finished ring and I wish I had gone with him. This is of course partially my fault as well bc I didn't specify, but they polished the ring to look brand new. All of the gorgeous patina that meant a lot to me is gone and I am very disappointed. I have never sized a ring before so I didn't know that polishing is usually standard so didn't think to mention it. I do wish they had asked if I wanted it polished without just doing it, knowing it's an heirloom. The store has not been open since this happened but I will go in this week and let them know I'm disappointed and see if there is anything they can do (though I know the answer is probably nothing other than wait for the patina to develop again). I know it sounds dramatic but I feel like the hundred years of history on this ring has been erased. Again, I know this is not their fault, I should have specified that I did not want it polished so I don't feel right reviewing them badly. They did a great job on the sizing and as I said my fiance has bought many things from them and they have always been helpful and professional. Just a word to the wise to be very specific with things like this!
