I was extremely meticulous in finding a photographer for our destination wedding, and when I came across the Shenkos I was immediately drawn to their stylistic approach, artistic appreciation for photography and most importantly their eye for capturing emotion… they both love what they do and it shows! After having the opportunity to meet them, it was clear that their personality and passion matched their talent – they are a force!

This couple is incredible. We love how they capture the REALITY of weddings – from sexy silhouettes and heartfelt moments while getting ready, to happy tears and raunchy dance moves of guests sprinkled throughout the night – allowing us the opportunity to really see how everyone enjoyed the evening. Genya and Erik capture photos that are truly authentic and their work is a reflection of their personalities!

At any point if we had a question or comment they were always an email away and were very prompt and professional. Because of that, my husband and I felt such ease hiring and trusting professionals that we had never met and who were so very far away from our home. And the ease continued into our pre-wedding photo shoot and while taking photos during our wedding.

Minutes before our pre-wedding photo session was scheduled to begin we ran into some inclement weather and they generously created a backup plan for the next day that turned out to be the best option of all.

On our big day Genya and Erik were focused, professional and attentive behind the lens and so much fun during all the bits in between. Their teamwork and communication is seamless and quite a treat to witness. They each have their own styles and respect each other’s visions, so in the end we, as the clients, were gifted with their masterpiece of work filled with much love and passion.
Group shots were super smooth and efficient, and individual shots as brand new husband and wife were just a blast. Throughout the course of day and deep into the night, Erik and Genya continued to bring a thirst and enthusiasm for capturing our wedding and all that made our wedding day so special for us. There is nothing that could have been better - choosing this couple was the best wedding vendor decision that we could have made. We watch our slideshow and review our pictures often and fall in love with our decision to hire the Shenkos more and more every.single.time.
At the end of our wedding experience, what was left were the photos… for us that proved to be more important than we knew and I am so glad we were able to work with the Shenkos – we couldn’t rate them high enough and would recommend them time and time again.

Genya was wonderful. Her style was candid photojournalism which was perfect for us, but I am sure she would be great at more posed or traditional styles.
The most important thing for us was capturing the fun moments in the ceremony and the memories of celebrating with all of our friends. We also got some beautiful shots of the decorations which is a wonderful memory of the details of the day.
It was a big event for a destination wedding (50 people) but still felt special and intimate. She did a great job fitting in.
We had a wonderful, magical day and she did a great job capturing that.

Our experience with Erik was excellent. He is very professional, make us feel very comfortable during all the session and we had loads of fun! Erik is very kind and has lots of ideas to make beautiful photos and videos in his very original way! We definetely recommend them!!! Thank you for everything!!

We were married in Rivieria Maya in November and we hired Erik to photograph our special day. He was the BEST wedding photographer we could have ever asked for! He was very flexible and accommodating, and met with us (very last minute) when we came down for a quick weekend to plan our wedding. He took our photos that weekend so he could get to know us and so we could get more comfortable with taking romantic beach shots :) Erik then met us the night before our wedding so we could take some pre-wedding shots which was great. He is very creative and was able to capture very unique shots, while also getting the more traditional photos. His calming personality helped us stay grounded and comfortable throughout the wedding weekend. We got some beautiful shots (despite the rain right after our ceremony) and they sent the photos to us within a few weeks! The photos are wonderful and will be cherished for many years to come. Thank you Genya and Erik for contributing to an amazing wedding!

Immediately we felt comfortable with Erik, who was truly an artist with the camera. His use of natural lighting and camera angles made our wedding pictures look absolutely sublime. He went above and beyond when he drove us out to a secluded beach during a rainstorm to capture some stunning shots. He will find the beauty even in the simplest of moments. In particular, one of my favorite photos was taken while I was adjusting a hanger strap on my dress :)

Shenko Photography are absolutely brilliant!! We were getting married in Costa Rica but were based in London so we had the task of finding a photographer over the internet. I thought it would be a nightmare but Shenko Photography quickly caught my attention and we’re booked within a couple of days. Erik was really nice, he wanted to hear all about our relationship, where we met, our background etc which I felt was really thoughtful. The day before the wedding Erik came to the venue and we had another lovely chat and did a test shoot which really prepared us for the big day. Neither my husband and I enjoy having our photographs taken but Erik made us feel completely at ease. He was very efficient on the day, very thoughtful and worked really hard to find interesting angles, lights and locations. The final photographs are BEAUTIFUL, we absolutely love every single one and will be forever grateful to him for capturing our big day so gorgeously.
