From the moment we stepped into Genesis Bridal for our upcoming wedding, we knew we found our forever seamstress! Ama made you immediately feel comfortable, and by the time we left our first appointments we felt like we had made a true friend. She takes her profession very seriously, and makes you feel like you're her most important project while you're there. She takes her time to explain everything to you, make suggestions, and is very detailed and thorough in all of her work. We wound up sending our entire bridal party to her because we had many different issues with the fit of the dresses we purchased online. She not only worked her magic with the brides, but she made the entire wedding look top notch. Her creative mind/work allowed for adjustments that saved many of the girls a lot of money and headache with having to order a new size.
We honestly couldn't recommend this place enough! Ama was transitioning to a new store front during our process and literally welcomed us into her home to finish our order and make sure everything was perfect. Do not look elsewhere, she is AMA-zing! :)

If you’re looking for top notch customer service and a phenomenal wedding dress experience this is the place! The owner Ama was a miracle worker! My mom passed down her wedding dress to me, that was over 40 years old. Ama was able to restore, make some modern changes, and create a beautiful dress that fit me perfectly! I didn’t realize how long something like this would take, so when I expressed the short deadline I had, Ama surprised me with her sense of urgency and worked overtime to make sure my experience and final product was everything I had hoped for. It actually turned out way better than I even thought! She was so sweet, personable, and extremely talented at what she does. The venue was intimate and you can tell she loves what she does. I couldn’t have asked for better results and I would recommend this place to any bride looking for a stress free experience and the wedding dress of their dreams. She captured mine and my moms vision, while offering her own suggestions that made all the difference. Absolutely loved it!

OMG!! What can I say about Ms. Ama! She has become family and has been like a second mother. Let tell you the blessing that lord place upon me in my time of need:

I brought my dress from a bridal boutique in Baltimore and lets just say after the experience I had with the owner nobody from her store was going to touch my wedding dress. My mother and I have been look for seamstress by the name of Grace that we have referred many brides too in the pass but could find her boutique to save our lives. After driving all around Laurel MD , looking for Grace my mother stumbled upon Genesis Bridal Couture Studio. After looking at all the pictures, reviews and website my mom notice that the lady in the photos looked like Grace and it could have been her and probably changed her companies name. So my mom and I decided to drive to the location and pray that is was her..... well we got the shock of our lives.

When we entered the storefront we were met by Ms. Ama who was very pleasant and nice to meet with us without an appointment. We explained to her that my dress from a different boutique hasn't arrived yet and because we had a major argument with he store owner I was not conformable with the boutique touching my dress. We let her know what we looking for another lady that we knew by the name of Grace and what brought us to the store that she resembled her and we was not sure if it was her or not. Well lord and behold she told us that Grace was one of her sisters and that she was the older sister that taught her the ins and outs of the business. When I tell you I screamed and jumped for joy you would have thought I won the lottery. I was more than confident that I was in great hands.

Let me give you short timeline of the drama I was facing: My wedding was 7/20/19 , my wedding dress was due to arrive at the store that we shall not mention on 6/17/19 , the actually arrive to the store until 6/28/19. From June 29th - July 13th , I was at Ms.Ama storefront doing numerous dress fittings to make sure that alterations were done in time for the wedding. Let me tell you when we did the first fitting we were all pissed at the disaster that we were met with. My dress was ordered 4 sizes too big. I wear a size 14 and my wedding dress should have been ordered in 20 give or take and not a size 26. When I tell you I was heated , I was heated literally started to have an overload of emotions because I could not believe that this wicked woman ordered my dress this big. Ms. Ama told me that should have been ordered in a size 20 no bigger than 22 ( I am very blessed in my breast area ) to have give some extra room for alterations but they shouldn'y have ordered me a 26.


Ms. Ama or Mama Ama as I call her did an amazing job on my dress. I mean she basically turn my dress into a custom made dress. We has so much fabric from that dress we probably could have made another dress. I will post before and after pictures. She took a disaster situation in a beautiful master piece. She was so kind and encouraging everytime I spoke with her. She was my shoulder to cry on , my listening ear during my time of need. My mom was not able to attend my fitting due to being out of town for work and my mom was so confident that me and Ms. Ama had everything covered.

All in all, Ms. Ama is a stop shop. She can take care of your entire wedding party at her storefront. You will not go wrong with selecting Genesis Bridal Couture Studio!

I could not have been happier with how my dress turned out. Amma took the top of one dress, the bottom of another, added some bling (and pockets), and made it perfect to me. I would highly recommend, considering I also only gave her 2 months to make it happen.

My dress was altered to my liking, I took my mother, aunt, daughter and a two nephews plus my mother in law and sister in law to see me try on the dress and the all loved it. Thank you

Ama was so lovely to work with. Her services are so personalized and you feel as though she genuinely cares about your vision. Her prices are affordable and she was able to customize a sample dress to turn it into my dream dress, for a much lower cost compared to any other boutiques I had visited. She is very talented, and passionate about what she does. Would recommend her for any bride looking to save money and still look like royalty on her special day!

My wedding was on November 19th, 2016. I started planning 5 months before. I searched and searched for a bridal boutique in or close to laurel. I only had a month and a half to find my dress and get it altered before my wedding so I was on a tight schedule. I found a few bridal shops, but NONE of them compared to the hard work, dedication, and warmhearted services provided at Genesis! Ms. Ama makes you feel welcomed as if you are family and dedicates delicate time, effort, and detail into making sure that your dress/gown is perfect for your special day! I appreciated that she worked with me on such short notice and did everything she could to assure me that everything would be perfect on my special day and to relax. I would recommend her boutique to anyone!!!

I called this store after having a bad experience with another place. I was very discouraged after my appointment with the other bridal store. Just after talking to Ms. Ama on the phone I knew I had found the right place. I went to the appointment and she was nice and very friendly. She was very straight forward and honest about what the dress needed. I was happy with the quote I was given and excited to work with her.

We purchased my daughter's wedding dress and bridesmaid's dresses at Genesis and had alterations done on mothers of the bride and groom dresses and flower girl dress. Ms. Ama helped my daughter find her dream dress. She is amazing - a seamstress and fashion consultant all in one person! From our first visit through final alterations, we have many happy memories of our daughter's wedding preparations thanks to Genesis.

With Ama's help and amazing skill I had the perfect wedding dress for my wedding this June!!! I found a dress at her store that wasn't what I had been picturing for my wedding dress, but when I tried it on I knew it was the one!! Since it is no longer for sale from the designer, Ama worked her magic to take the off-rack dress from a size 14 to a size 6, and she did it seamlessly!! Even though she had to cut the dress size in half, the flow of the dress and the design did not change. It was an impressive feat. Not only did she deliver the perfect dress, Ama was also a joy to work with. She is very easy to talk to and makes you feel very comfortable. Along the way, she listened to things I wanted to change and she delivered! Not only that, but she made last minute alterations the week of my wedding to make sure it was perfect. I definitely recommend Genesis Bridal as a stop on your wedding gown hunt!!
