If you are thinking of doing chinese food for your wedding CHOOSE FURIWA! literally EVERYONE at my wedding was commenting on how AMAZING THE FOOD WAS. And we are a group of very food critical people, we have chefs in our family and everything. And all of them were so amazed they went to go and try to peek in the kitchen! that's how good it was.

Even a couple weeks later, I still get people telling me how amazing my wedding food was!

This by far was one of the best investments of my wedding. I think my wedding would have been ruined if i went with someone else.

So anyone who's on the fence with furiwa, do yourself a favor and just go with them for your chinese wedding catering needs. You won't regret!

We went with Furiwa catering for our 400-person wedding this past December and we couldn't have been happier! Victoria made the entire process easy for us, from locking down our venue location to finalizing our menu, appetizers, and late-night food.

Most importantly, all of our guests absolutely loved all of the food! Our family and friends couldn't stop talking about the lobster and fish. We also elected to add on a late-night noodle bar and it was huge hit!

We highly recommend Furiwa and have already been recommending them to several of our friends for other large events!

Having GOOD Chinese food was a must for our wedding. Furiwa blew us and all of our guests out of the water. We got married at a venue that exclusively caters through Jays Catering, and luckily they partner with Furiwa for a food buyout. We worked with Vivian, who was very helpful in selecting our menu, informative, flexible and easy to work with. She came out for a site visit to make sure the kitchen was fully ready for the day-of. We also had an incredible experience with our tasting! So many of our guests had told us that the food was probably the best wedding food that they have ever had. We had plenty of leftovers at the end of the night that guests were eager to take home. The food was highly regarded for both our guests who were hard critics of Chinese food and for guests who seldom each Chinese food. It was an all-around win!!

My husband and I first fell in love with Furiwa back in November 2020 at a close friend's wedding. As corny as this will sound - it was quite literally love at first bite. From then on, we knew we wanted Furiwa to cater at our wedding.

STAFF EXPERIENCE
One of the many things I truly appreciate about Furiwa was how flexible they were with our dinner menu. A few members from my husband's side of the family have a very special vegetarian diet, and after explaining the details with the team, they were able to create a whole separate menu for my in-laws, which made them truly feel included. So we had TWO menus; this definitely made our dinner even more special. Drafting and reviewing the contract was a seamless process, and the team was very transparent when it came to pricing and charges. Overall, the experience working with the team at Furiwa was fantastic; they were flexible to work with, the chef was very knowledgeable in their craft, and fully understood our wants & needs. Also - their tasting menu was no joke; it was a full on dinner for me and my husband. And also, they have the cutest dessert options! We had rose shaped sweet buns at our wedding, friends/family couldn't get enough at how cute they were!

FOOD EXPERIENCE
This was our dinner menu (non-vegetarian) ~
- Starters: House Special Cold Platter, Asparagus and Crab Soup
- Main Courses: Candied Walnut Shrimp, Furiwa Wok Tossed Lobster, Mushroom Braised Duck, Basil & Chili Whole Fish, Yang Chow Fried Rice
- Dessert: Rose Buns with strawberry & matcha jam

The crowd favorites were the lobster and whole fish (*chef's kiss!!*), but everything was truly delicious. The cold platter had pork cuts, steamed shrimp, jellyfish, clams, squid, century egg and pickled veggies. I devoured the jellyfish and the century egg. The shrimp in the walnut shrimp was huge! And the whole fish was perfectly crispy, the sauce paired so well with the fried rice. Each dish had a generous amount, so everyone had their fair share and then some. I wish I took some photos because the presentation was gorgeous but of course, bride & groom were off running around. BUT I managed to take 1 photo of the cold platter, see below (lol).

OVERALL EXPERIENCE
Nothing but great things to say about the team behind Furiwa. From the service to the food, everything was sensational. All of this wouldn't have been possible without the amazing Victoria Nguyen, who helped plan our wedding and managed our dinner reception. Long story short - my husband and I originally planned to have our wedding in Singapore. Our date was set for January 2022. But because of the uncertainties around COVID (which, looking back now, was a blessing in disguise), we cancelled our Singapore plans July 2021. Freaking out on what to do next with less than 6 months to plan, we were introduced to Victoria who was able to make our dreams come true with very little time. If you're lucky to work with Victoria and the Furiwa team, you are in really good hands. Thank you, all!

Thank you Vivian and Furiwa for the incredible catering at our wedding. The appetizers and entrees were spectacular. We were so pleased with the presentation of the meal and the services. We received many compliments from our guests of how wonderful the food was.
Vivian went above and beyond in coordinating our wedding with the venue and gave us many good suggestions. She’s organized and very responsive. Thank you Vivian and Furiwa for the great service and delicious food.

We had initially wanted to explore having a Chinese banquet style for our reception (and had to opt out due to venue requirements) and were working with Vivian on estimates for multiple venues. She was super responsive and professional, and we loved all the different options and services Furiwa provided. The food looked amazing as well so we are hoping to use them for another event soon!

When my husband and I started planning our wedding, there were 2 things we prioritized - food and open bar. We knew we wanted to serve Asian food, so we did our research. We did a tasting with Furiwa and another well-known Chinese/Vietnamese food caterer in the area. Hands down, my husband and I both loved Furiwa's food, service, and overall experience better. We felt the food from the competitor was not as good and the owner was a bit pushy/overwhelming. From the start, Vivian was super sweet and easy to work with. She provided the various menus, which have per table costs, and it was nice because menus are customizable so we were able to remove the courses we didn't like, and add the ones we do.

The tasting a great experience - they set up an intimate table for you, make you a nice serving of each dish, and packed up all the leftovers for us. We booked them that day. A few months later, the pandemic hit. Furiwa was flexible and let us move our date without any issues. They did inform us that due to the cost of rising food prices, they would need to increase our cost a bit as well, but given the circumstances, we felt this was fair. The overall price per person was still less than if we had served American food through the venue.

We had no issues with Furiwa during our looooong wedding planning process. They were familiar with our venue, and accommodated all our requests to the best of their ability. We received so many compliments on the food. So many guests told us they were happy they didn't leave a wedding hungry for once. When we sat down, I shoveled so much food into my mouth - I looked like a chipmunk in several of my photos. No shame. I was so happy with the tender cubes of shaken beef, the crispy honey walnut prawns, savory house special lobster, and perfectly steamed fish. I don't know how they managed to make sure all the shaken beef was tender, but damn....it was so soft. The lobster meat came out of the shell easily so I didn't look so barbaric prying it out. The prawns were my favorite item, with the crunchy, glazed walnuts.

I'm not sure what happened with the other reviewer with a poor experience, but my experience was quite the opposite. It didn't take much effort to work with them. My picky Vietnamese family members were happy, and my husband's Chinese family members were happy. I also thought it was a nice added touch that they provided menus in English, Vietnamese, and Chinese. The only bummer was that we weren't able to pack any leftovers to go, but that was due to rules set by our venue, not Furiwa (health code stuff).

Also, when we expressed concerns over serving food family style (due to COVID), Furiwa offered an option to do individual plated meals. I think this may be a little pricier, but you have that option if you're concerned. We ultimately chose to stick with family style and it was fine. You could pay $200/person for steak/chicken, veggies, and a starch....or you could pay half that with Furiwa for a satisfying multi-course meal (we had 8 courses). Highly recommend Furiwa for your event!

We absolutely loved having Furiwa as our vendor. Not only were they very easy to work with and accommodating, but after our wedding, our guests RAVED about the dishes that Furiwa served. We knew after our tasting that this would be the case, and were ecstatic that Furiwa delivered. All of their dishes were meticulously prepared and were full of flavor.

I received so many compliments on how great Furiwa's food was and how beautiful and classy the venue was. Furiwa is absolutely on their A-game. Above all, they really went out of their way to make me a princess on my wedding day. Their food was so amazing, I am still salivating over it. If they offer you the opportunity to go to one of their events where they let clients sample their food, I highly recommend it!

Their professionalism was impeccable. You could tell they have been doing this for years. The when's, where's, how's on the wedding day were perfectly executed. There were so many moments I anticipated that I would cry and break down over, but with Vi all of those fears melted away and the execution on my wedding day could not have gone better.

If the thought of weddings gives you nightmares, then look no further than Furiwa. They made everything so seamless. Guests still compliment me about my wedding to this day.

Honestly, we don't know where to begin! As wedding coordinators, we have worked with many catering companies and let us just say that Furiwa Catering was exceptional! Not only do they take great pride in their food but they make sure that guests are truly experiencing the culture behind it. From their beautiful and organized display, to their impeccable customer service, to the delicious array of food, Furiwa Catering blew us away.

It was especially a pleasure working with Vi who went above and beyond to reassure guests were satisfied during dinner. Vi and her crew were professional, punctual, and experienced. She knew what to do, when to do it, and how to do it! When you're working with multiple vendors, as we do, we can't begin to explain how crucial it is for them to do their part with little guidance. Furiwa Catering needed little direction, if any, to execute their job perfectly. Thank you for contributing to such a successful event, Vi! Food is one of THEE most important aspects to a wedding and Furiwa Catering did not let us down!
