Freedom Run Winery

We had our wedding reception at Freedom Run winery in the barn on 8/22/25 and it was absolutely incredible. The barn was exactly what we’d pictured, and the vineyards made for such beautiful photos! More than that, they offered multiple packages and we were able to pick one that fit into our budget. Mark was incredible from the very beginning stages of deciding to book, he was willing to meet with us to accommodate our schedules, and so helpful during the process. At the reception he went above and beyond my expectations to make sure things ran smoothly and I didn’t have to worry about anything at all, which was amazing. I can’t recommend this venue enough!

You pay for the venue and the bar package in one which is nicer than what other places offer. Compared to where you pay a large fee just to rent the place for the day and nothing else included! This was a great selling point for me and my husband that the bar was also included in your reservation package. The drinks were better than well for the cheapest package too! Also can pick any kegs of beer you want and they get them for you. If you’re having a smaller wedding and want a rustic vibe this is the best value for that! My guests all had a great time. Weather wasn’t on our side but we did a floor reset from ceremony to reception in under 5 minutes. ( assign your groomsmen that task if it happens to you) Mark was very responsive and flexible and was always there to answer questions via texts and calls even on his days off. (Sorry mark!) they were flexible with payments for to fit in around my work schedule and were all around a great group of people to work with. My guests loved the barn. My wedding was late fall and I was worried about it being cold and that was not the case I didn’t hear a single person say they were cold the heat is powerful and efficient when the barn doors are closed. All in all great memories were made at Freedom Run Winery!

Awesome venue! Amazing views, and the barn was such a great space for dancing! We stayed at the air bnb on the property which was so nice and so convenient. Mark was so easy to work with, was so accommodating and made it such a smooth process! The vineyard was beautiful and made for really pretty background to our photos. Can’t recommend enough!

Freedom Run winery was the perfect venue for my husband’s 50th birthday celebration and most recently my son and daughter in-laws wedding rehearsal dinner. Mark, the event manager, was very accommodating with my many requests. Both events were in the barrel room which provided an intimate setting. We all especially love the lights that are strung in the room making it feel warm and cozy. Can’t wait to plan my next event at FRW.

Our experience with Freedom Run Winery was excellent from start to finish. Mark and the home office were super helpful and answering all our questions and working with us to have the best possible wedding. The day of the wedding everything went flawlessly. They even let us carry out a German tradition of finding the bride on the winery grounds and it was amazing.! I highly recommend this venue for any kind of an event and the cost was super reasonable. Thanks again so much.!

We had our wedding reception at Freedom Run Winery at the end of May 2025 and cannot recommend it enough. We attended a small wedding fair they hosted the previous year and were able to book for almost exactly a year out. That event was also where we found our wedding cake vendor.

*Winery & Weather*
With a May wedding in WNY it’s a bit of a gamble with the weather — the year we first visited, it was warm and sunny, but on our wedding day it was a bit chilly and rainy in the morning. Having experienced the venue in both types of weather, I can assure you it is beautiful regardless! With the misty weather, we got so many beautiful photos outside in the vineyard, with the rolling fields in the background, a beautiful rainbow, and golden and cotton candy sunset skies. Absolutely gorgeous. If you’re worried about the temperature, the barn, where we had our reception, stayed nice and toasty with the heating available.

*Staff & Event Team*
Staff—winery employees and bartenders included—were so friendly and helpful on all of our visits and on the wedding day, and the event manager Mark, is wonderful! He was so helpful with reminders about all the bits and pieces that go into preparing the wedding, since as you all know (or will soon know!), there are so many things to think about and prepare for the big day. He is very experienced and knowledgeable and can give you a lot of insight.

*Wine & Bar*
The wedding event we attended the year prior included a wine tasting, and part of our booking was a bar package with several FRW wines included. They have a nice variety available to suit your tastes—dry, sweet, mild—and multiple bar packages, with great options, very reasonably priced.

*Location, Accessibility to Vendors/Vendor Options*
We wanted a wedding in WNY, since my family is local, and we opted to go with a more rural option so that the groom’s family could see the beautiful local landscape and just to have a peaceful, relaxed vibe for the wedding. We looked at several options in the Lockport area and elsewhere, and found this venue to be very reasonably priced among them, with great vendors for food, florals, cake, music, photographer/videographer serving the location.

*Rustic Barn - Guest Count, Vibe, etc*
We had our reception in the “rustic barn.” It is really very beautiful and simple elegance, gives a great relaxed and cozy vibe. We opted for a smaller wedding, less than 100 people, and I was worried if the barn would look too empty, but with the various table options and flexible layout of the space, it looked very comfortably filled. I would say this venue can work for a smaller or larger group just based on the different ways you can organize the table and where you place your “dance floor.”

*Ceremony*
We had our wedding ceremony off-site at a church, so I can’t speak to this aspect.

*Overall*
Can’t recommend it enough! There are so many options in planning your wedding and reception, and I think a lot of venues capitalize on the bride-to-be’s overwhelm. FRW is so fairly priced, straightforward, friendly, and professional. I really couldn’t have asked for anything more—I definitely feel I made the right choice with FRW and would recommend to anyone!

Freedom run was the first venue that we went to see to book our wedding. We fell in love at first sight. The venue itself is beautiful and perfect and the staff were just as wonderful. As soon as we left we knew we found the perfect place. The day of our wedding was amazing, everything was exactly what we wanted. Mark and his staff helped create the perfect day. We couldn’t be more grateful for their hard work. Mark made sure everything was perfect down to every little detail. He was at the venue the day of the wedding making sure everything went smoothly and was correct. I’d recommend Freedom run to any couple that is looking for an outdoor/indoor rustic wedding. Especially in October!

I recently got married at freedom run on august 17th, it was the most perfect day I could of ever imagined. Mark was amazing at making sure everything went smoothly. The venue was beautiful we got married by the vineyards with reception in the barn, brand new bathrooms accessible for everyone. It's very nice they have the Airbnb on site for you to book for your wedding party. The only thing is it's more of a DIY venue so you have to do alot of outsourcing but it's worth it.

We had our wedding on 10/18/24 and I have to say it was we nothing short of amazing! The scenery and background of the vines were perfect for photos and weather was the best. The barn was awesome for the look we went for. Mark was great and easy to work with and had everything perfect for us! We even rented the house on the property and that made it so much easier to not have to drive after. Amazing house from the 1800s! We had Wozniak photography for photos and they were amazing. Our DJ was DJ1Ten from timez up sound. He was amazing and had dance floor going nuts whole time! Overall, it was the best wedding ever. I would recommend the venue, DJ, and photography company 10/10!
