Fort Nisqually History Museum by day, wedding reception venue by night. Who doesn’t worry about the logistics of their wedding reception? Thankfully, the fort provided a picturesque setting for our evening picnic celebration. Little decor was needed to complete the ambiance making set up and breakdown simple and quick.

Museum staff were easy to reach and helpful through the end. Period actors brought our guests into the 19th century with demonstrations from the black smith, a carpenter, and black powder riflemen. Everything is inside Point Defiance Park, where guests can enjoy PNW nature and history.

Wanting our wedding reception at one of Tacoma’s most memorable treasures, my husband and I are happy we chose to host our wedding reception at Fort Nisqually last July.
