About

The Hands On Children's Museum is a fun, whimsical venue for your wedding

Let 8 galleries and 150 exciting exhibits set the stage for your big day.

Have your ceremony in the open air in our 1/2 acre Outdoor Discovery Center or one of our special indoor exhibits. Your reception can take place outside or move inside, where you can dance to a live band and play in the museum all night.

The Museum is located in the heart of downtown Olympia, WA, on the East Bay waterfront. Our facility is LEED and Green Globes Certified for the eco-friendly couple.

This space is perfect for family friendly wedding needs and for the young at heart.

Your event will be personalized and coordinated with the help of a dedicated, experienced event coordinator. We'll make sure that your special day is stress-free, easy, and of course, fun.

The wedding was amazing!!!! It felt magical! I could not have asked for anything more. All of our guests had loads of fun. My wedding will be talked about for a very long time. I love how we were able to have a beautiful ceremony and then playful fun for the reception. The HOCM staff were wonderful! They were out of the way but close by! The price may seem high but when you consider that you have the staff and a coordinator it is more than worth every single penny. When I arrived I was actually able to just enjoy myself and get ready. It was a pure joy to not worry about getting things set up. I cannot say enough good things. HOCM made my wedding dreams come true.

The venue was incredible and we had access to the entire museum. Since our friends and family have many children, we wanted a place that would accommodate all. The HOCM did that and more. Adults and teens also had a blast! It was VERY reasonably priced, especially compared to the other venues in Olympia. There is also the possibility for a rainy day contingency plan. The staff was wonderful and very supportive! They made it a flawless event for us! The Hands On Children's Museum is truly a hidden gem in the wedding world. I highly recommend this venue for any event!
