Lovely woodland venue

This venue is so beautiful and great value. Kathy is super responsive and helpful with recommending local vendors as well. I can't wait for our wedding and for all of our guests to see this location. It's the perfect venue for the whimsical woodland vibes.

wedding reception in the redwoods

I had a great experience with the Felton Guild and working with Kathy! I did my wedding reception with 55 people in the redwood grove in May 2019. When I initially toured the facility, Kathy was late for our appointment because she was touring someone else, so we decided not to book the space. However, 2 months before my wedding, my planned venue fell through. I contacted Kathy again, she responded within hours. She was extremely helpful and accommodating. As I began planning my event with only 2 months to spare, she was extremely responsive, responding to all emails within 24 hours. She accommodated my request to use the space in a way that it had never been used before. On the wedding day, she was available at 8am to help our family set up. She provided us with a hot glue gun and chalk when we needed last minute supplies. We used cowboy catering, and I found them to be very responsive via telephone and flexible in making my event happen. Overall, my wedding reception went off without a hitch and it was a fairytale!

We got married at Felton Guild in August 2014, and the experience was better than anything I could have imagined. Kathy, the events coordinator, was extremely friendly and professional from the first time we spoke just over a year ago to the day of the event. She was quick to respond to any questions/concerns that I had leading up to the event and on the day of. From the moment I stepped foot on the property during my initial tour, I knew that this was the perfect place to have the most important event of our lives. It's absolutely stunning. The redwood grove is majestic and intimate, and the well-groomed reception lawn offers a homey, backyard-style feel to the event—exactly what we were looking for. Our photographers had no problem finding a variety of great places to shoot on the property. We used the on-site restaurant, Oak Tree Ristorante, as our caterer, and it was the best decision (Now the on-site restaurant is Cowboy Bar & Grill—also delicious). The entire staff was professional and courteous and the food was excellent. Every one of our guests spent the entire day smiling. I would recommend this venue to anyone. Book Felton Guild—you won't regret it!

Our original venue fell out 4 months before our big day. We found Kathy and the Felton Guild on a fluke trip to the area. Everything was easy, painless and absolutely perfect! Our wedding turned out better than ever imagined. The place is stunning!

Beautiful AND Affordable

Affordable and BEAUTIFUL venue. Guests couldn’t get over it!
Working with people who know the venue is a bonus but Kathy is great at helping and making referrals. Just note that Kathy is not a day of coordinator so you will need someone to set up and keep schedule.

Best kept wedding secret in Northern California! With family and friends spread throughout the US and Germany, we wanted to find a very special place where everyone could enjoy our wedding and the area as well. We searched for two years finding beautiful places but something just wouldn't be right. Then I came across a mention of the Felton Guild in a news article on the internet and I visited their website. I emailed my fiance asking "could this be the place for us?" We called and talked to Kathy, then visited the Guild within a few days. Even though it was March (cold, windy and closed since October), it was beautiful. The wedding grove is a glorious natural cathedral of huge redwood trees and there is a large lawn area for the reception. Having talked to several locations with strict guidelines and requirements, we appreciated Kathy's relaxed attitude. She didn't care if we were planning an eloquent catered affair or a down-home bar-b-que, she just wanted us to have the wedding of our dreams. The rules are simple: A couple rents the Guild for the day, has the wedding of their dreams and returns it in good condition - no other requirements. With the exception of a kitchen (I believe that may be coming), the Guild provides everything you need for a fantastic wedding. There is a changing room for the bridal party and for the groom. The forested area has the cathedral and further in there are built-in tables for gifts, buffet, cake and benches. The lawn area is perfect for an outdoor reception. There are electrical outlets available. They provide ample chairs and benches for the wedding plus tables and chairs for the reception. And yes, there are restrooms available for everyone to use.

A bonus: The Guild is just down the street from the entrance to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. We used the Park for other events and to sneak away for some breath-taking "just married" shots. Another bonus is that the beach is just 15 minutes away, so my guests had the opportunity to explore and enjoy both the redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains and the California coast. All in all, our guests were blown away by the beauty of the area and this venue - you can see it in our wedding video and photos as people keep looking up at the towering redwoods.

The location was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, which was a huge selling poit for us and we received numerous compliments on it at the wedding and beyond. However, we were told when we booked the local that they would set up the ceremony site and we were responsible for the reception set up. We agreed to be there at 8am to set up, and arrived to find no one there, the ceremony site NOT set up and the brides room locked. Repeated calls to the owner went unanswered and when we did hear back she said they were not doing any set up. Our rental times were 8am-10pm, however there is NO outdoor lighting available, which makes clean-up extremely difficult.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
