Hey there! I'm Mel. I’m a full-time wedding photographer currently based out of a little town in the middle of the mountains of Western Maryland. I have a serious case of wanderlust, an obsession with castles, all dogs, Game of Thrones, and pretty much anything that takes me outside. I’ve been photographing weddings & elopements for over five years now, and I’m madly in love with it! Nothings inspires me more than two people who make each other laugh, and decide that they want to keep doing it for the rest of their life!

Brought our fairytale dream to life
We met Melissa at our wedding venue's open house. She asked what our vision was for our wedding day and we mentioned we wanted a fairytale/fantasy vibe. She seemed very excited to help us deliver on that vision, so we decided to hire her, and she absolutely nailed it! She can turn even a relatively plain location, like the park where we took our engagement photos, into a masterpiece, and she made the most of the beautiful venue where we got married. She's extremely friendly and professional, very easy to work with. It was a great experience.

Talented photographer, wonderful human.
Mel is a wonderful human and absolutely talented photographer. We booked Mel originally for our December 2020 wedding, which eventually turned into a December 2021 wedding due to the pandemic. Mel handled the change with ease and was so easy to work with.
Our engagement photos were on what I can only describe as the coldest, windiest day in 2021, but she made it look like we were warm as can be and just happy to be there. On our wedding day, she kept all the formal photos of the wedding party and family moving like a well-oiled machine, and all our guests who saw her and her second shooter throughout the night commented on how happy they looked to be capturing photos of our day.
Mel sent us some awesome sneak peek photos while we were on our minimoon, and we can't wait to get the rest of the album! We know that any prints we buy are going to look awesome. I highly recommend hiring Mel for your wedding or other photographer needs!

Melissa is nothing short of an AMAZING photographer!!!
I followed Melissa's work for a while when after seeing some of her elopements at the Savage River Lodge, I knew she was the photographer I wanted to capture our special day. Let me just say I could not be HAPPIER with the quality and number of beautiful photos she took to capture our small ceremony and she was so easy going and pleasant to work with. I would VERY highly recommend her to anyone!!

Melissa is the absolute best!
We used Farfalla for our engagement/ wedding photos back in February '19 and October! One of the best things that she does is include an engagement session in the wedding packages. I love that the engagement session gives you a chance to comfortable with your photographer and also see just how awesome her style is going to be for your wedding photos. Our engagement session was on a cold windy day and Melissa totally rocked by making sure we were all still having fun! She has such a bubbly personality it feels like you've known her forever which makes you so relaxed on the big day! She also pays attention to the little details that leave a lasting impact (our USB with our photos we is stunning!). Overall, I 100% reccomend Farfalla Photography to everyone looking for a photographer that makes you feel beautiful and relaxed!

Wedding 10.26.19
We love Melissa! I first fell in love with her work through Instagram. Once I saw her there I stalked her website and knew I had to reach out! Melissa was so easy to work with, professional and always responded in a timely manner. Melissa went above and beyond to capture all of the photos that we wanted and made everything go so smoothly. We did a first look and she made that so special. We also have a big confusing family and she was able to get all of the pictures for us with no problem. Not once did we ever feel rushed or pushed. Melissa posted a few sneak peeks on Instagram which are absolutely stunning and breathtaking and I am so in love with our photos already! I cannot wait to get our whole gallery and relive our day all over again! I cannot say enough good things about Melissa and would recommend Farfalla photography in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a photographer! I also hope to one day do a boudoir session with Melissa as a surprise to my husband. Her boudoir shots are amazing as well!

Amazing photographer!
We had the opportunity to book with farfalla during one of the sales she had, which is rare in the world of wedding planning! She was very flexible when scheduling our engagement session and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. On the day of the wedding she was gonna wonderful and I’ve loved our sneak peek photos! I can’t wait to get the rest! Thank you for capturing our special day!

The best photographer for a great price
Melissa was amazing! She was so personable, and made us feel so at ease, especially for people who hate being in front of the camera. She fit right in with all of our jokes when we did our engagement pictures, so we knew she would bring some great energy to our wedding day. Melissa was responsive to my emails in the meantime in regards to wedding timeline concerns, etc. Her and Karle fit right in at our wedding and captured all the moments we wanted. Not just formal pictures, but all the crazy moments that we laugh at looking back. Pricing was great and her turnaround time was as promised. Not a single regret!
