FarAway is a duet and band located in Charlottesville, Virginia. Comprised of two singer-songwriters, Sara Davenport and Brian Franke have played over 30 weddings since 2013 and a variety of other special events in the Washington DC, Charlottesville, and Richmond area. The duo works closely with each couple to ensure every requirement is met and no small detail in the performance is overlooked.

From the ceremony, cocktail hour, and rehearsal dinner, the duet and band can play the appropriate music to match the event’s style and atmosphere. To ensure a stress-free experience, the band offers one-on-one consultations to discuss venue logistics, set up of the sound system(s), and any other coordination that may be needed. No matter what the preferred music taste, the band specializes in a variety of different genres and can customize their playlist to include every couple’s favorite songs. FarAway has a wide range of music that can be played for any portion of the wedding. Their music includes classic rock, 90s alternative rock, folk (rock, pop, traditional), pop hits, Top 40, singer/songwriters, and more. They can provide potential clients with a song list and learn new music if needed. Pricing

Since FarAway can customize your wedding music experience, prices vary depending upon the legth of music, if you would like the duet, full band or solo, and what parts of the wedding you'd like music for. The most popular package is having the duet for the ceremony and cocktail hour followed by the full band for the reception. Also available is having your own music played on a pre-determined Spotify playlist for such things as dinner time music or for dancing (please note FarAway is NOT a DJ service and the playlist is selected by the wedding couple). In addition to the rates for playing music there are additional fees that can include the use of more than one sound system, learning new song material not on their song list, lighting, wireless microphones, and other poential logistical fees done prior to the wedding (ex. going to the venue to meet with the wedding coordinator).
