What Does a Day-of Wedding Coordinator Do?

Have you ever been to a wedding where it was clear the couple could have used more help? Perhaps things were always running late, there was not enough staff or no one knew what they were doing.  This looks bad on the bride and groom, and it definitely is not fun to be a guest at such a wedding watching the chaos. I have been to too many weddings where the couple clearly could have used a little extra help in executing their plans.

Nowadays, with wedding blogs and DIY books readily available, more and more couples are opting to plan their own wedding, but one thing is for sure—you cannot be the bride and groom and coordinate your wedding day!

For couples who have done all the planning for their wedding, a popular service is hiring a Day-Of Coordinator or Month-Of Coordinator to oversee the details.

It is sometimes referred to as “Month-Of” because the wedding coordinator will commence their services about 4 weeks prior to the wedding day. To get familiar with your wedding plans, usually 1-2 meetings are needed to go through the itinerary, take care of last minute details, and what has been discussed with vendors. No matter what the service is called, these meetings are vital to communicate your vision and expectations for your special day. Along with this preparation is having the wedding coordinator present at your wedding rehearsal, so that that everyone is on the same page when it comes to the ceremony.

On the wedding day, the main role of the Day-Of Coordinator is to ensure that your plans are carried out smoothly and to discreetly handle any problems that may arise. This also means you can arrive to a perfectly set up ceremony and reception, since your coordinator will have already arrived in advance to make sure it is set up properly. They are also the liaison with the venue, food manager, decorators, MC, DJ, photographer and parents; they pull the pieces of the puzzle together, ensure that everyone knows about timing (mainly so your food is cooked to perfection)!

We also provide our own in-house staff (such as insured/certified bartenders, professional wait staff, captains, coat check and security..

Whether you are working with a caterer, having your favorite restaurant deliver food, or preparing the meal yourself, our party staff will take care of the details at your event allowing you to enjoy your event like a guest.

The set up crew and party assistants can help you to set up tables, chairs and decoration.

We are dedicated to assuring that your party runs smoothly, handling everything from set-up, serving, to clean-up. In detail this includes: Setting up tables and
buffets, preparing the food (making sure everything is hot and ready on time), butlering appetizers, serving the food
(whether it's a sit-down dinner or a buffet), and cleaning up. Clean up includes everything from washing dishes, taking trash out to mopping floors, etc. We leave the
premise spotless.

We are available to serve, set-up, clean and organize the details of any event. We also have services in catering, event planners, banquet & conference centers, invitation & program designs, centerpieces & favors, linen & dinnerware rentals, and tent & furniture rentals.

Janeen and her team did a fantastic job taking care of every single detail leading up to, and the day of our wedding. Janeen thought of absolutely everything and is a total pro. Planning a wedding is incredibly stressful and the week leading up to the big day is stressful x 100--Janeen took a huge weight off my shoulders by taking care of following up with each of our vendors, making sure our All Seated chart was complete, and getting everything set up and broken down the day of. She even made me a plate of food and kept the water coming so I wasn't a total mess the next day! 10 out of 10, would absolutely recommend Parties N' All for all of your events.

Janeen helped us our when we needed some last minute staff for our wedding. The servers she sent were knowledgable and helped make the venue and the night turn our exactly as we expected. Not to mention they were extremely affordable. The staff knew our venue well and were on top of cleaning & helping out attendees. 10/10 would use them again for any other staffing needs. Thanks Janeen! :)

TL;DR -- Do not work with this company! Hiring Janeen was a huge regret. We would've been happier paying her to just stay away from our wedding. 2 big complaints:

(1) 5 days before our wedding, she jacked up her initial quote by by more than 50% and then threatened to abandon us without staff if we refused to pay her. It was a true hostage situation. (We'd already paid a deposit.) And literally nothing had changed about our wedding plans between her initial quote and the sudden and last-minute price hike.

(2) She did a terrible job at the wedding. Our friends and family ended up filling in for all the things Janeen and her staff were supposed to do. The appetizers came out 90 minutes late (right before dinner was served), she forgot to play the music, she forgot to light the candles, etc. It would have been so much easier to just not have her there.

She betrayed our trust in a big way. Before the wedding, my wife and I figured she was trying to pull a fast one on us, with this price hike scam. Now, after the wedding, we just think she's really bad at her job.
