I am getting to this review WAY too late. But if you are reading this and you're on the fence about hiring a wedding planner: do yourself, your spouse, and your family a favor and hire Ayla. Do it. The cost of hiring her in any capacity for your wedding is far outweighed by the immense return on investment you will get. Ayla is a fierce advocate, a trusted advisor, and lovely friend. On the morning of my wedding day, I was enjoying champagne with my family and friends and Ayla and Amanda had everything handled down to the finest details. Our ceremony was beautiful. My husband and I got to enjoy dinner together at our reception, and the reception space was immaculate. Our out-of-town family (large in number and in strong personalities) had an amazing time. No matter how large or small your wedding is, she and her team will make the entire process seamless and the day will be full of only joy. Ayla, we can't thank you enough.

Wedding Success: Events by Ayla

When our daughter announced her engagement to a wonderful young man, our family was delighted. Our daughter knew that she wanted the wedding ceremony at our family church and she
knew that she wanted to wear her grandmother’s wedding dress. Those were the easy decisions. More difficult were questions about photographers, flowers, catering, the wedding cake, bridesmaids’ dresses, the budget, printed invitations, the organist, and the choice of music: the list went on and on. We also had questions about the order of events at the reception and the dinner after the wedding: who should speak? what about toasts? when was the bridal bouquet thrown? when did the happy couple cut the cake? and the list got longer.

Our daughter spoke with friends about these things and got helpful advice from many. But their most important suggestion was to find a friendly and experienced wedding and event planner. She interviewed several planners, asking questions about which services were included in their planning
help, how a budget was developed, and what assistance she and her fiancé would have at the wedding, the reception, and the following dinner.

We were pleased when our daughter and her fiancé chose Ayla Otto of Events by Ayla. She met regularly with them and was always available for quick advice or longer conversations. She assisted them in developing a timeline laying out exactly what had to be done by what date. She also advised them on developing a budget. They were given a list of decisions to be made. When a decision required hiring an individual or a business, Ayla gave them a list of possibilities with the pros and cons of each (a bit expensive or not, always reliable or not, easy to work with or not, great result or not). The young couple then had the opportunity to meet prospective suppliers and was better informed to make decisions. Ayla excelled at figuring out how to accomplish what the couple wanted, paying close attention to detail and anticipating everything in advance. The process took about a year, and her timeline kept us all on schedule.

When the wedding day came, Ayla was at the church early in the morning to direct the florists, the caterers, the person delivering the cake, and others. The wedding went off without a hitch, and the reception and dinner that followed were well-organized and smooth. Probably most important to my
husband and me was that the two of us, and above all the bride and groom, were able to enjoy the day, knowing that Ayla was present to oversee the activities and available to answer questions from any of those who helped.

We certainly enjoyed working with Ayla. She led us through the entire process with good advice and some trouble-shooting, and in general made the entire day a success.

Ayla is so amazing I don’t even know where to begin. You always hear about how stressful planning a wedding is and I didn’t experience any of that!
She made the planning process so fun and exciting and the wedding day turned out more beautiful and perfect than I could have ever imagined. I can’t possibly recommend Ayla highly enough! She was incredible throughout the planning process and her wedding guides were a life saver. We had a bit of difficulty with our venue and their coordinator but Ayla filled that gap seamlessly. I’m sure that there were a million little fires that needed to be put out the day of the wedding but I can honestly say I wouldn’t know because Ayla handled everything so I could just enjoy the day and spend time with my loved ones. She is truly incredible at what she does and has cultivated excellent relationships with other vendors in the industry that you can capitalize on. I always tell people she’s the best decision I made in regards to the wedding, 2nd only to my husband (and it was close)!
