I am getting to this review WAY too late. But if you are reading this and you're on the fence about hiring a wedding planner: do yourself, your spouse, and your family a favor and hire Ayla. Do it. The cost of hiring her in any capacity for your wedding is far outweighed by the immense return on investment you will get. Ayla is a fierce advocate, a trusted advisor, and lovely friend. On the morning of my wedding day, I was enjoying champagne with my family and friends and Ayla and Amanda had everything handled down to the finest details. Our ceremony was beautiful. My husband and I got to enjoy dinner together at our reception, and the reception space was immaculate. Our out-of-town family (large in number and in strong personalities) had an amazing time. No matter how large or small your wedding is, she and her team will make the entire process seamless and the day will be full of only joy. Ayla, we can't thank you enough. -

Wedding Success: Events by Ayla
When our daughter announced her engagement to a wonderful young man, our family was delighted. Our daughter knew that she wanted the wedding ceremony at our family church and she
knew that she wanted to wear her grandmother’s wedding dress. Those were the easy decisions. More difficult were questions about photographers, flowers, catering, the wedding cake, bridesmaids’ dresses, the budget, printed invitations, the organist, and the choice of music: the list went on and on. We also had questions about the order of events at the reception and the dinner after the wedding: who should speak? what about toasts? when was the bridal bouquet thrown? when did the happy couple cut the cake? and the list got longer.
Our daughter spoke with friends about these things and got helpful advice from many. But their most important suggestion was to find a friendly and experienced wedding and event planner. She interviewed several planners, asking questions about which services were included in their planning
help, how a budget was developed, and what assistance she and her fiancé would have at the wedding, the reception, and the following dinner.
We were pleased when our daughter and her fiancé chose Ayla Otto of Events by Ayla. She met regularly with them and was always available for quick advice or longer conversations. She assisted them in developing a timeline laying out exactly what had to be done by what date. She also advised them on developing a budget. They were given a list of decisions to be made. When a decision required hiring an individual or a business, Ayla gave them a list of possibilities with the pros and cons of each (a bit expensive or not, always reliable or not, easy to work with or not, great result or not). The young couple then had the opportunity to meet prospective suppliers and was better informed to make decisions. Ayla excelled at figuring out how to accomplish what the couple wanted, paying close attention to detail and anticipating everything in advance. The process took about a year, and her timeline kept us all on schedule.
When the wedding day came, Ayla was at the church early in the morning to direct the florists, the caterers, the person delivering the cake, and others. The wedding went off without a hitch, and the reception and dinner that followed were well-organized and smooth. Probably most important to my
husband and me was that the two of us, and above all the bride and groom, were able to enjoy the day, knowing that Ayla was present to oversee the activities and available to answer questions from any of those who helped.
We certainly enjoyed working with Ayla. She led us through the entire process with good advice and some trouble-shooting, and in general made the entire day a success. -

Hire Ayla!!!
Ayla is so amazing I don’t even know where to begin. You always hear about how stressful planning a wedding is and I didn’t experience any of that!
She made the planning process so fun and exciting and the wedding day turned out more beautiful and perfect than I could have ever imagined. Everything was so stress free, she brings you coffee in the morning, handles everything and makes you feel so special. I would hire her to plan my whole life if I could! -

Where do I even begin with the amazing, talented, patient, kind, and my most trusted wedding-planning companion... Ayla! I got engaged in February 2023, and I knew the first vendor I needed was a coordinator. I had a few intro calls with a few vendors, but none were as detail-oriented as Ayla. From that call on, I knew she'd be the greatest asset I could have. I wanted to be hands-on, so I went with her month-of package. Although I didn't get married until July 2024, she was there for me every step of the way. Her checklist helped me stay on track, organized, and helped me think of things I hadn't thought of. During the planning, my family had a pretty traumatic event happen, and Ayla was sensitive, kind, and professional with my family. In addition, we added Jewish elements to our wedding, and Ayla went out of her way to truly understand the cultural aspects. When it rained on my wedding day, she helped with last-minute changes that turned out even better than I wanted. I am so grateful to have had Ayla help with my wedding. I actually MISS planning just so I can laugh, plan, and low key hang out with her. EBA is the best there is when it comes to event planning. Work with her and enjoy your new BFF -

Hiring Ayla as our wedding planner was one of the most easiest decisions we made for our wedding. From the designing of timelines to setting up the day of, Ayla was nothing short of amazing. She relieved so much stress from me (because being a bride and planning a wedding is almost IMPOSSIBLE). I got to wake up the day of my wedding knowing that Ayla was going to bring my dreams to reality, and she did just that. She alleviated all my stress and anxiety the entire year before my wedding and this allowed me to enjoy and soak in every moment getting ready the morning of my wedding. Ayla is incredible!!
Where do I even begin?? Ayla is INCREDIBLE. If you are on the fence about hiring a wedding planner, take my word for it now and 1. Do it and 2. Hire her.
If you need convincing…
Ayla made the wedding planning process so much fun! We hired her as a month-of coordinator, as I planned on doing most of the work myself and then would hand it off for Ayla to execute. We added one extra option to work on a venue layout together so I could better visualize the space. Ayla went above and beyond in every interaction we had. Not only did she accomplish her work on time (or ahead) which helped lower my stress levels, but she was a sounding board as I worked through details. I genuinely felt like I was chatting with a close friend to dream and scheme up my perfect wedding. When the time came to pass the work to her more fully, I did so with glee knowing that she is just as type A as I am. ;)
My level of stress would’ve been through the roof had we not had Ayla leading up to the wedding, and certainly not on our wedding day. She executed the vision and plan we worked on together PERFECTLY. There were a few things that were out of our control (the power went out, can you imagine??) and yet the day went off without a hitch. I was calm enough because of her help that it didn’t even bother me, if I noticed at all. I will never forget the feeling of walking into our reception venue and seeing the space exactly how I imagined, without having to lift a finger to make it that way on my wedding day. She gave me the ability to remain present with my friends and family, and more importantly my husband. I will forever be grateful!
We hemmed and hawed over the decision to hire a wedding planner, and looking back I can’t even begin to imagine what it would’ve been like without Ayla. She was worth her weight in gold. Your wedding is a time to celebrate with those closest to you, and it should be a joyful day. Take stress out of the equation and let Ayla help you. This is truly her passion, and it shows in every message, every checklist, every timeline, every piece of the process. -

I don’t believe there are words to describe the peace-of-mind Ayla brought to us during our wedding planning. Here is our story.
I am the friend who loves hosting and planning parties and am a Type A perfectionist. When we got engaged we knew I needed a wedding planner or I would obsess over every detail and blame myself if anything went wrong and wouldn’t enjoy the process. I am also the type of person that has to ensure they have done all the research on every single option.
I spent the next week researching wedding planners in Alaska and happened upon Events by Ayla. I didn’t even contact another planner, because after seeing her website and Instagram I knew she was the one! Originally she said she would not be taking on weddings in 2023 for personal reasons, but would reach out if that changed and I was heartbroken. I agonized over this for days because no other planner was “the one” and so I began planning the wedding myself, my own worst nightmare. Then one day I received an email from Ayla that she would take on our wedding if we were still interested; to say I was elated would be an understatement! To me it was a very good omen!
Our first meeting with Ayla she assured me her job was not to take over the wedding planning completely, but to assist me and give me the information I needed, options, and advice to have the best day of my life. She was bubbly and sweet and very easy to connect with.
I spent the next week deciding if we needed to spend the extra money for full-service or not which was a huge decision, but let me assure you, the financial investment was well worth it! In the year and a half of our wedding planning Ayla became more than a wedding planner, she also became a friend and confidant. Poor girl learned way more about my personal life and emotions than she signed up for, but she was always there to listen and give great advice. Her years of experience definitely shone throughout the entire process, but she always let us make the final decision. I never felt “steamrolled” by her, I always felt confident in her options, and I never felt nervous about how things would go on wedding day. Funnily enough, the day of our wedding I was having anxiety because I felt I should be doing something and had nothing to do because Ayla had everything perfected!
When Ayla agreed to take us on as clients I don’t think she entirely understood what she had signed up for given my personality and perfectionism, but through the entire process she always made me feel like my overplanning, design, and ideas were well aligned with her personality, style, and attention-to-detail. She never made me feel like I was a burden.
I will recommend her again and again to anyone I know who is getting married and wants the services of a wedding planner. I will also always recommend a wedding planner to every bride, no matter their personality style or how many or few details they think their wedding will require. Being able to enjoy our wedding day to the complete fullest without myself and my (now) husband, or any of our friends and family feeling like we spent the day “working” was my biggest wish for my wedding. Ayla made that and so much more come true for the most enchanting day we will never forget! -

Ayla was a godsend to our wedding planning. My husband and I were both in California, so our wedding was destination for us and many of our guests. Ayla gave us so many great ideas and created a design board from my Pinterest that totally captured our vision. Her planning guide was really helpful and gave us connection to much needed vendors. She gave feedback when we really needed it. She also handled things like a boss at our tasting, she made sure that we had a 4 tier cake like I wanted (even though the chef tried to talk us into 2). I find myself channeling Ayla when I need to take care of business. You will not regret hiring her. Also, she is very communicative and kept me on track to have the best day ever! Truly, I couldn’t have done it without her. -

Hire ayla!
Ayla planned my wedding in July of 2022, and I still (5 months later) can't get over how perfect it was, what a beautiful job Ayla did, and how thankful we are for her hard work and attention to detail. Ayla was completely dedicated to making my wedding vision come to life, and she delivered above and beyond my expectations. I am so so glad that we worked with her, and can't imagine my wedding without her eye for detail and her care. I would recommend her services to absolutely anyone and everyone. I simply can not say enough good things.
Throughout the planning process, Ayla was there for me - not only the detailed design boards, maps, and plans she sent me, but also to answer every single one of my questions, quickly and with care. If I changed my mind, Ayla handled it in stride and adjusted without even blinking. I really felt like she was there for me and my wedding. She was patient if I didn't get back to her right away or couldn't decide about something. She was kind in reminding me what I needed to be doing. She was organized with monthly checklists.
On the week leading up, she was totally prepared and organized and completely handled any and all road bumps (there really weren't many, being as how she had completely tackled everything so far in advance) without causing me any stress.
On the day of and day before, she worked from sunup to sundown (and I do mean Alaskan summer sun-up to sun-down) to prepare everything so we could enjoy ourselves and relax. She took time and care to get everything perfect. She didn't complain about a single thing, and always had a big smile on her face.
Another small detail that we both loved, was that she made sure we always had food and drinks on our wedding - I hear so many brides say they didn't get to eat, but Ayla literally was so on top of it, we didn't miss a single thing.
Seriously, hire her. We can't say enough about how much we loved working with her and how much fun and enjoyment she added to our day, by bringing her specific talents and light to our day, as well as reducing our stress and anxiety leading up to the event. -

She was everything I didn’t know I needed!
Hiring Ayla with Events by Ayla was the best decision my husband and I could have made for our wedding day. Our initial thought was that we would not need any planning assistance, as we were having an intimate ceremony and reception of under 80 people, but that was most definitely not the case. We hired Ayla for the full-service collection and the wedding day could not have happened with out her! Throughout the planning process, Ayla was attentive, organized and resourceful. Ayla is easy to contact and work with and she was not only able to take my visions and bring them to life, but she was able to take care of any fires that arouse quickly and efficiently. Even with having such a small wedding, having the extra hand was necessary! Ayla was able to see the day/evening run smoothly, work out all kinks with out having to involve me the day of, work with all my vendors to keep them on track and following my very detailed instructions, and most importantly, always made sure I always had a glass of champagne in hand. It was refreshing knowing all to do list items were being taken care of while I could just relax and enjoy myself during this special time. Ayla made it truly possible for me to enjoy my big day -
