Hidden Wedding Gem!

We got married at the Museum on 8/10/19, we had our ceremony in the beautiful Mary Keane Chapel, cocktail hour outside the Stone Mill and reception inside the Stone Mill. We could not have picked a better place for our wedding! From the beginning we knew it was the perfect fit as it offered historical charm, multiple venues in one space, overnight accommodations, was reasonably priced and we were supporting a Museum and not just a wedding venue. Throughout the planning process the event coordinator, Anna, was beyond helpful. We were able to visit for measurements and to pick her brain whenever. She was always very organized and quick to reply in email or on the phone. The day before our wedding she helped organize a tour of the museum- a free perk if you book a room, which was a unique kick off to our wedding weekend. She was very flexible with us as we were doing a DIY wedding and allowed extended hours and access to the reception spot. During our wedding, especially the reception, she was the unsung hero. I heard from a few bridal party members after that she had picked up the pieces where things had fallen through, such as getting hot water for tea, etc. Without her the night wouldn’t have been as smooth. One of the best parts was having room for our family and bridal party to stay with us there, it let everyone really unwind and felt like a mini get away. The rooms were very spacious and made for great gathering places for getting ready and after the wedding! We were so lucky to have found this venue and to have had Anna help support us through the process! We highly recommend this venue to anyone and can’t wait to visit some of the other events they host there as well!

Everything we wanted ♥️

We rented the stone mill for our reception and had our ceremony in the chapel.

The Enfield Shaker Museum is a gorgeous historic space, that is so unique. The event coordinator Anna was incredibly helpful and flexible the whole time. The day of was a breeze.

The mill was the perfect blank slate for us to create the wedding of our dreams. It was definitely a little more work than some other venues would have been but it was 1000% worth it.

I am so grateful that we chose the Enfield Shaker Museum for our wedding. There are many reasons why: 1) The support provided by the museum's event coordinator, Anna; 2) The ability to have many of our guests stay with us onsite, which was incredibly special; 3) The beautiful and historic buildings that also happen to look amazing in photos; 4) The flexibility to choose our own vendors; 5) The fact that linens/tables/chairs/dinnerware are included if you rent the Great Stone Hall; 5) The opportunity to support a fantastic nonprofit with an important mission. Our friends and family loved the location, and one memory that I will remember for the rest of my life was walking through the hallways at night and seeing my dearest friends and family mingling, talking, and getting to know each other after the party ended--made possible because of the overnight rooms. Anna is very knowledgeable and experienced, and she worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly so we didn't need to stress. At one point, the caterer unexpectedly took away the water station and Anna saved the day by getting more water so we could keep dancing. She was also an invaluable resource during the planning process. I highly recommend the Shaker Museum as a wedding venue!

We were married at the Shaker Museum May 2017---what a wonderful experience! We opted for a budget friendly wedding and decided to keep the guest list small (<40) and not have a wedding party. Once we started looking at potential venues, we soon realized most places we were interested in (barn venues, etc) had minimum guest requirements that would've blown our budget out of the water. As a DIY fanatic, I loved the flexibility of being able to decorate the space as I had envisioned and we couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. We opted for the ceremony and reception in the Stone Mill and had a JOP officiate. The staff (Anna in particular!!) were incredibly helpful and professional. Everyone raved at how gorgeous everything turned out and honestly we are still saying to this day how we wouldn't go back and change a thing. Some things to note are that the building (Stone Mill) does not have a bathroom---and we were surprised at the expense of renting a trailer style port a potty (although guests could not stop raving about it). Additionally the guest rooms are convenient although definitely rustic and not sound proof--but it was fun to have all of my family and close friends stay and get ready together. Some guests opted to stay in Hanover, which was fine as well. Our catering company and photographers were phenomenal, and everything came together with ease. Anna went out of her way to fix any issues that came up along the way---including a repositioning of the port a potty that was not placed properly initially by the rental company. The staff present at the event including bartenders (provided by the museum) were so courteous, many guests went out of their way to mention this to us. We are so happy with our experience and thankful to have such amazing memories (and pictures!!) for the rest of our lives. Overall, a beautiful wedding venue, with extraordinary potential if you are willing to invest the creativity.

We loved this fall venue. It's rustic charm with plenty of space for all of our guests, access to a full kitchen, and GORGEOUS grounds make this place such an amazing place to have a Wedding! Our wedding coordinator was so helpful and responsive. Everything was so affordable but we didn't feel like we had to sacrifice anything. We had our dream wedding!

I had a May wedding at the Enfield Shaker Museum, and I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking to have a wedding in New Hampshire of Vermont. Don't be worried if the venue seems too far away. My wife and I live 90 minutes from the museum but were able to easily plan the wedding remotely via email.
The wedding coordinator was absolutely fantastic. She has a list of local vendors (caterers, florists, etc.) who have experience working with the museum. After one in person meeting with the coordinator we were months ahead of schedule. Leading up to the wedding she did a perfect job of finalizing all the smaller details, and she helped beautifully orchestrate our cocktail hour and reception while using a light touch.
As far as the venue is concerned, the beauty of the place speaks for itself. The Mary Keane Chapel is an ornate de-consecrated Catholic chapel built from Granite and filled with beautiful marble and stained glass. The Stone Mill is a spacious gathering area with a fantastic view of the rest of the property. The Great Room is the main dwelling area that holds two dining room options, a kitchen, and twenty or so guest rooms. The architecture is the typical Shaker style that is beautiful in its simplicity and steeped in history. The main buildings are surrounded by several other Shaker buildings as well as a barn and garden which made for great wedding photos.
This venue is fantastic because it provides all-in-one capabilities for chapel, reception, and lodging; plus the wedding coordinator is fantastic. If you're looking for a wedding venue I would strongly recommend considering this on your short list. If you're looking for a golf course or hotel wedding then consider the museum because it provides so much more beauty and customization options. If you're looking for a rustic barn style wedding then consider the museum because you can get all of the rustic feel of a barn at a reduced cost without sacrificing must haves like bathrooms, kitchen, etc.

The Enfield Shaker Museum was more PERFECT than I even first thought. The Shaker Museum is a hidden gem. My fiance and I wanted a wedding that blended elegance and comfort, while staying true to our New Hampshire home. The museum is this place. The grounds are gorgeous, well taken care of and the buildings are classically New England, beautiful and feel like home. We met the coordinator, Anna, and were right away impressed by her flexibility and assistance. She listened and asked about us and was responsive every step of the way. We had our ceremony in the Stone Mill, it was absolutely gorgeous. The exposed stone, beams and beautiful lights stunned everyone. We then had a cocktail hour in the Dining Room and the reception upstairs in the meeting room (both in the Great Stone Dwelling). The entire building is beams and wood floors making it charming and warm. It was easy to decorate and they were so open to anything we wanted! After the party, everyone absolutely loved the rooms, not only are they spectacular, clean and comfy, but it was one of the highlights to have a hotel full of people you know! All along we were happy. The museum provides so, so, so much for the money! For the same amount as some tent rentals we had a gorgeous, unique and inclusive venue. We didn't have to worry about chairs, tables, silverware, plates, linens, bar services, coordination and more. The little details were taken care of so we could come decorate and celebrate! We had so many compliments and tons of people asking where we had found the place! The Enfield Shaker Museum was perfect, I wouldn't change anything and would recommend it to anyone looking to plan a wedding. I promise you will fall in love!

The Enfield Shaker Museum may not seem like the kind of place you'd have a wedding at first glance, but the charm of the buildings and the area make it a perfect spot. We used the Stone Mill as our reception spot and were married outside on the beautiful grounds. Both were gorgeous and perfectly fit the style we were hoping for from our big day. The event manager, Anna, is wonderful to work with. She's flexible with requests and committed to making your event special. She went above and beyond to create a beautiful day for my husband and I. Another benefit of this site is the availability of overnight rooms right in the main building. The room my husband and I stayed in was large and was perfect for my bridal party to get ready in. The guests loved being able to stay right on site and I loved not having to worry about providing transportation to a hotel. Although their website is a little difficult to look at, I highly recommend stopping into the museum to see it's beauty first hand and talk to Anna about having your next event at the Enfield Shaker Museum.

We had our wedding here in November of 2013. It couldn't have been a more perfect setting. We had our ceremony in the Stone Mill and the cocktail hour and the reception in the Great Stone Dwelling. There are so many things that made this a great day. Vreni Gust helped get us in touch with local vendors and was very responsive to all our questions. There were rooms on site in the Stone Dwelling where many of our guests stayed. And the setting was breathtaking. It was reasonably priced and was exactly what we both had envisioned. We had roughly 75 guests. Highly recommend for a small, intimate New Hampshire wedding.

We held our recent wedding at the Enfield Shaker Museum and couldn't be happier with our choice! The location far exceeded our expectations and provided the perfect backdrop to our wedding. We love that all our bridal party and close family were able to stay onsite for the weekend. Our ceremony was in the chapel with its beautiful stained glass window and marble alter and spectacular organ. We hosted our cocktail hour in the Old Stone Mill with twinkling lights and rustic granite walls. The reception was in the Great Stone Dwelling - the Shaker details were simple and the perfect complement to our DIY decorations. Anna, onsite coordinator, was great to work with and very responsive to our needs and requests. The Shaker Museum was perfect for our wedding and I would recommend to future brides looking for a place with natural character that you can make your own!
