About

There is nothing quite like the experience of enjoying live string music. Whatever the occasion may be, having a group of string musicians perform for your guests adds an extra element of class, ambience, and elegance that is simply unparalleled. The dream of Dockside Strings is to provide this experience for you and your guests.

Our string players perform with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra and Tallis Chamber Orchestra. Our musicians also teach private lessons in their home studios, as well as at Cape Fear Community College.

We offer a wide variety of musical selections, including classical and romantic favorites. We also love to spice things up a bit with jazz, pop, contemporary, and holiday tunes. We look forward to playing for you!???

Wedding Ceremony and Reception

One of the only wedding details we were sure of was walking down the aisle to string music. The atmosphere Dockside created with their music was exactly what we were hoping for, both at our wedding Mass and during our cocktail hour. They played classical wedding pieces and liturgical songs at Mass and contemporary/classical rock hits at our cocktail hour (in the middle of coastal NC summer heat). Everyone enjoyed the tunes, and it was so special to have them perform live. Thank you Dockside for sharing your amazing talents with us and making our wedding day so memorable.

A Perfect Ceremony

Dan was awesome to work with! Communication was quick and efficient and I loved being able to pay via venmo to book his services. I chose the string duo and it was perfect for the size of our wedding. They played for the ceremony only and it was simply beautiful. I had always dreamed of having a string band as guest arrived and when I walked down the aisle. It was surreal to see it all come together. Thank you to Dan and his team for an unforgettable day!

Incredible!!

Talk about talent! Dockside Strings played at our wedding for the ceremony/cocktail hour and created the exact ambiance and emotional vibes we were hoping for. One of our guests was shocked when they saw it was a live band creating the music and had let them know that they thought it was a recording! Thank you so much for making our day extra special!

Solo violinist FTW

We initially wanted the quartet, but most of the group was already booked on our date. Dan did an outstanding job solo and we would gladly have a soloist if we did it again! His talented musical contribution to the ceremony made a huge impact. We are so appreciative of him learning and playing Viva Las Vegas as a tribute to where our love story began one year ago. The pre and postlude music was so wonderful and created a joyous and romantic ambiance we will always remember!

Amazing!! With all the Covid 19 craziness, Dan was super responsive and flexible with us. Truly wonderful. I also had family member pulled me aside and let me know how wonderful and beautiful his playing was!

Absolutely Perfect!

We had a small wedding (less than 50 people) and wanted to provide music to our guests that was different from a DJ or using Pandora. We used the contact feature in Wedding Wire for Dockside Strings and received an email within hours from Dan Sanchez, the music director. He made suggestions on the number of musicians we should have and provided a quote that was reasonable. They had an extensive song list to choose from, ranging from classical to modern day songs. I even made a few suggestions for songs that were not listed, and he was able to provide the sheet music at a nominal charge. On the day of the wedding, Dan called to confirm the location. He and another musician were the ones who played at our wedding... and it was MAGICAL!!! They were poised, professional, and simply amazing! Our guests thoroughly enjoyed listening to them. It was just the perfect touch to our special day. I HIGHLY recommend Dockside Strings!

Soundtrack to a fairytale

Dockside strings was the perfect touch to bring our special day to that dreamy state. The team was responsive and very knowledgable.

Due to a seasonal hurricane we had to postpone our wedding and the team gladly accommodated our new date. A really talented bunch!
