Received so many compliments!

DJ Tariq was such a life saver, his playlist was so much fun and he knew how to read the crowd and play songs that brought up the energy. Our wedding was a white and desi mixed wedding and he knew how to represent both cultures in the music that was playing. He had a very professional setup with uplighting, a DJ booth, and even brought a mic and stand for my dad, who was performing a song at the wedding. Honestly DJ Tariq was so awesome and I would never go with any other DJ if I had to get married all over again, lol!

I was worried about my engagement function as I was new here and traveled long through Dubai, and my fiancee referred DJ Tariq and that was so fabulous.... I never ever forget that moment and special thanks to DJ Tariq because he did a great job.. wish to hire him again on my wedding ceremony by this year end.....

Very disappointing experience with DJ Tariq

I’m writing this review as the bride’s sister because I personally witnessed the issues with DJ Tariq and, more importantly, how much stress this situation caused my sister on her wedding day.

My sister originally booked Tariq after he was recommended to her. When she first received his pricing, she explained that it was outside of her budget. He asked what she was comfortable spending and told her he could work with her. After discussing what she needed, they agreed on a price and signed a contract.

What makes this situation especially frustrating is that my sister was very clear about what she wanted from the beginning. Because of religious restrictions around music, she had already prepared the background music herself. She essentially needed the DJ to provide the setup, play her playlist, handle the MCing, and play the songs she specifically selected for the entrances. The photo booth was also discussed in detail, including unlimited physical prints, an attendant, a specific backdrop, and a customized print design.

Unfortunately, the execution on the wedding day was completely different.

The photo booth that showed up was not what my sister had selected. Instead of the sparkly gold backdrop she had chosen, a different backdrop was provided. There was also no attendant and, most importantly, there were no physical prints at all. Guests were given an iPad to take pictures, with the option to have the photos texted to their phones.

We were completely caught off guard by this because these details had been discussed and confirmed beforehand.

What was even more concerning was that Tariq himself did not show up to the wedding. Someone else was sent in his place. When we questioned the person there about the missing prints and explained what had been agreed upon, we were told that Tariq felt the price my sister paid was too low and that was why the prints were not being provided.

That explanation made no sense to us. If he knew the agreed price would not cover the service he promised, that conversation should have happened before the wedding, not on the wedding day.

My sister would have had the opportunity to make other arrangements if she had been informed ahead of time. Instead, she found out when everything was already underway, when there was nothing she could realistically do to fix the situation.

I watched my sister become genuinely stressed and upset over something that should have been the last thing on her mind that day. She had spent so much time planning her wedding and making sure all of these details were taken care of beforehand, only to have a vendor change what was being provided without telling her.

After the wedding, Tariq offered a $100 refund for the missing prints. However, the issue was much bigger than the cost of printing. The problem was that my sister paid for a particular service, confirmed the details beforehand, and did not receive what she was promised.

As someone who was there and saw everything unfold, I would not recommend taking this risk for a wedding. A DJ is not just providing music, they are responsible for an important part of an event where there is very little room for mistakes or last-minute surprises.

My biggest issue is not that something went wrong. Mistakes happen. It is that the change was apparently made beforehand but was never communicated to the bride, leaving her to deal with the consequences on one of the most important days of her life.

For anyone planning a wedding, I would strongly recommend choosing a vendor who communicates clearly, honors the services they agree to provide, and understands that a bride should not have to spend her wedding day dealing with vendor issues.

Horrible service; do not recommend

This dj was horrible! My sister in law booked him for her wedding and he did not deliver.

When we arrived, the backdrop was not the one that had been agreed upon. There was an iPad photo booth, but there was no attendant and no physical prints whatsoever. Guests could only take photos on the iPad and have the images texted to their phones.

To make matters worse, Tariq himself was not even present at the wedding. He sent someone else in his place.

When we brought the photo booth issue to the attention of the DJ who was there, we were told that Tariq had apparently decided that the price my sister paid was too low and that he therefore would not be providing the physical prints.

This was extremely frustrating because this was never communicated to my sister beforehand. If the agreed-upon price was no longer enough to provide the service that had been discussed and documented in the contract, that should have been communicated before the wedding, not on the day of the wedding.

Had Tariq told my sister ahead of time that he could no longer provide the agreed-upon photo booth service, she could have made other arrangements. Instead, we showed up to the wedding expecting the service that had been promised and only discovered the change once the event was underway.

Unprofessional and a Fraud

I initially hired DJ Tariq for my wedding after he was recommended to me by another DJ. When he initially sent me his pricing list, I told him right away that he was out of my budget. He asked me what my budget was and said that he could work with me.

I explained that I had been receiving quotes from other DJs for basic background music and photo booths with unlimited prints at a certain price point. DJ Tariq then quoted me his pricing for the DJ setup and photo booth. He specifically stated that he has a guy who handles the photo booth and that he pays him $500, which included an attendant. After some negotiating, we both agreed upon a price, and he sent me a contract.

The contract he sent me was dated for a previous wedding in April 2026, even though my wedding was taking place in August 2026. It was very clear that he simply sent me a previously filled-out contract without taking the time to update it for my event. I then had to go in and enter all of my own event details, including the location, photo booth conditions and timings, and the other necessary information.

I also provided Tariq with the entirety of the background music that was to be played at my event. I had very specific requirements regarding the music I could have played due to religious reasons, so all I really needed was someone to come, set up the speakers, play the playlist I had created, MC my entrances, and play the specific entrance songs.

Prior to my wedding, I reached out to Tariq to confirm that the photo booth would be there with unlimited prints. I even selected the backdrop, which was supposed to be a sparkly gold backdrop. We also worked together to create a customized photo booth strip so that the physical prints would have the exact design we discussed.

When I arrived at my wedding, however, the backdrop was completely different from what we had agreed upon. There was an iPad setup, but there was no attendant, and there were absolutely no physical photo booth prints available. All my guests could do was take a photo on an iPad and have the picture texted directly to their phones.

To make matters worse, Tariq was not even present at my wedding. He sent someone else in his place. When we informed the DJ that this was not what had been agreed upon, was not what was written in the contract, and was not what we had discussed over text, we were told that Tariq had said the price we paid was too low and that he therefore would not be providing prints.

If the agreed-upon price was too low, why was I not told this before my wedding? Why did I have to show up to my own wedding and discover that I was receiving something completely different from what I had paid for?

Had Tariq simply told me beforehand that the price we agreed upon was not feasible for him to provide a photo booth attendant and unlimited physical prints, I would have had absolutely no issue hiring someone else. Instead, he waited until the day of my wedding to provide a service that was completely different from what had been discussed and agreed upon.

After the wedding, I reached out to him about the issue, and he said he could only provide a $100 refund, which he claimed would account for the cost of the prints. That does not make up for the fact that the contracted photo booth service was not provided as promised.

Overall, this was an extremely unprofessional experience. He did not provide the services that were agreed upon, failed to communicate the change beforehand, and left me to discover the issue on my wedding day. Your wedding day is not something you get to redo, and vendors need to understand the importance of delivering exactly what they promise.

If you want to avoid unnecessary stress and disappointment on your wedding day, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a DJ.

First off, the setup was great. We liked the the baraat and lighting. However, the DJ was not very professional. Halfway through the wedding the mics went out and the dj was nowhere to be found. The audience was very confused as no one could tell what was going. When the priest asked if the guests could bless us, no one could hear. This was a big portion of the ceremony that just didn't go as planned due to the djs equipment and absence. Also, we talked to DJ Tariq prior to the wedding about music selection and mc-ing the event for which he asked us to write up a script. We took a lot of time to write specific instructions and script. For the most part it was not followed. Our family intros were botched, the music was wrong, and then for our first dance some random song started playing. I had to stop the event numerous times to correct them so guests could understand what was going on. Despite our schedule of events, he decided to start the reception in the middle of dinner without us which happen to cut out all of our family and friends speeches that we had prepared. We pretty much had to step into the booth and have them stop the music to allow us to cut the cake. He didn't seem to care how we wanted the event to go and even told the brides sister to "f**k off" when she asked them to change the music. None of their actions were professional and they took the music in the direction they chose which caused the dance floor to empty out for a good portion of the reception.
