A MUST BOOK VENUE!! We honestly cannot say enough amazing things about our wedding weekend at Dexter’s Inn! The scenery and views is what originally drew us to this location, as well as the ability to make this a weekend celebration with our families instead of just a few hours! We were able to have our immediate families and wedding party stay right on site with us, while the rest of our guests were a short 5-min ride down the road. We also liked that we were given suggestions for vendors but also had flexibility in choosing our own DJ, caterer, BYOB, etc.
The new owners, Maria & Paul, as well as manager, Beth, and the rest of the Dexter’s Inn staff were just so unbelievable to work with! Throughout the wedding planning process, they were so accommodating, flexible, caring, and professional. Every morning, breakfast at the Inn was absolutely delicious! We used their preferred caterer, Rolf, for our rehearsal dinner Friday night and the food was delicious! Maria and Beth ran us through our rehearsal and flawlessly executed our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. They checked in with us often to make sure we were all set and didn’t need anything. Their hospitality is second to none!!
The Inn itself is gorgeous and the grounds are kept immaculate. Our ceremony was on the field and the views and setup were outstanding. The tent for the reception - GORGEOUS! We had a large reception with 175 guests and there was plenty of room, on and off the dance floor!
Maria, Paul, Beth, and all the staff were phenomenal. We cannot say enough great things about them and would highly recommend Dexter’s to anyone! We are planning to make an annual visit around our anniversary each year and are already planning a ski weekend with friends!

Booking Dexter’s Inn was hands down the best decision we made in our entire wedding planning process. Beth and Maria are absolutely incredible to work with, and the rest of the staff is just as welcoming and helpful. Having access to the entire property for the weekend created an experience we’ll never forget.

Our main goal was to spend meaningful time with our friends and family, and Dexter’s Inn made that possible in every way. Leading up to the wedding, Beth and Maria were always available to answer questions and offer guidance, and on the big day they made sure everything ran seamlessly.

My husband and I got married at Dexter's Inn last weekend. I wish we could give 10 stars!!! IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE DREAM! The new innkeepers Maria & Paul, manager Beth, and all the staff are absolutely incredible. They made our wedding vision come to life and supported us through every step with great communication and planning - so much so that we were able to truly enjoy the weekend when it arrived - as if we were guests at our own party.

Dexter's Inn is a magical place to get married. You can have 50+ of your closest people stay on site and you get the grounds for the entire weekend. It felt like our own private wedding camp, with delicious breakfasts each morning, tons of lawn games/hikes/tennis/swimming, an epic game room, and gorgeous nature. The innkeepers are so accommodating and helped us with extra set-up needs, use of the common inn spaces, and more. This wedding weekend was beyond our wildest dreams and we are forever grateful to this extraordinary team!! THANK YOU!

We used Dexter’s Inn for our wedding weekend in July 2022 and had the best experience. When looking for a venue we wanted a place that we could truly make our own and a property where our guests could hang out with us and with one another. Dexter’s quickly stood out as that venue. Here are some of the reasons:

The Full Property is Yours - When you book Dexter’s Inn, you get full access to all the rooms at the Inn (for your family and prized guests) as well as the property (lawn, pool, tennis courts, game room, etc.) and we made full use of that. This enabled us to do an event on Friday as well as the wedding Saturday. It also meant that all our closest friends and family were on-site to hang out those days and nights.

We hosted a large (120 people) outdoor event the Friday before our wedding with a BBQ that night. We played music, played lawn games (many of which Dexter’s provided) and enjoyed our guests for the day. In the morning of our wedding after breakfast (which is delicious every morning), we played pickleball, basketball and lawn games with on-site guests before getting ready for the wedding.

And lastly, we loved the game room. It was a great place to chill at night and to have the after party!

Dexter’s Staff - The staff at Dexter’s were tremendous. They went above and beyond helping us with setup, day of preparation, wedding tasks and cleanup. They were invaluable to everything running smoothly and were a joy to work with.

Beautiful Scenery - With Mount Sunapee in the background, the surrounding woods and well manicured estate, there were picture opportunities galore. It provided tremendous photos for the wedding day as well as great photos for the day before. It also was unto itself without other homes or properties near to distract from activities.

Make it Your Own - Unlike most venues we looked at, Dexter’s enabled us to bring in our own vendors, food, drink and other decorations. By buying our own snacks, drinks and alcohol we saved a lot of budget. There’s also a ton of storage on site for cakes, drinks, food and ice on-site while being 15 minutes from the supermarket and NH liquor store.

While we used Rolf and his wife (Dexter’s preferred caterer) for appetizers and dinner we used outside vendors as bartenders, the band, photographer and our cake. It really provided great flexibility to make the day and experience our own.

We really couldn’t have imagined a better wedding weekend with our guests and many said it was the most fun wedding they had been to! We are so lucky to have chosen Dexter’s for our special day.

Dexter's Inn was exactly what we were looking for in a wedding venue. It's an absolutely gorgeous setting overlooking Mount Sunapee with a very slight view of Lake Sunapee, as well, with stone walls stretching out over many areas of the venue, a beautiful patio, high quality rooms, and a huge open-air tent for seating many guests. John, the innkeeper, is so kind, helpful, and communicative, and he went above and beyond to make sure everything worked out perfectly throughout the weekend. We were able to host all of our wedding party and family at the inn for the weekend, holding our rehearsal dinner on the patio and our wedding after party in Dexter's beautiful game room on campus. The inn provides a delicious hot breakfast to all guests each morning, and the venue and its sprawling grounds is basically yours during your stay. We could not have asked for a more perfect site for our wedding weekend and recommend it very highly!

I was tipped off to Dexter's by a friend who had his wedding there years ago and thank god we got that recommendation! Dexter's is extremely reasonably priced and they do weddings there almost every weekend so John, the innkeeper, really knows how to ensure that things run smoothly. He acted as our silent operator day-of and prompted good questions during the planning process for us to think about. The property itself is gorgeous - beautiful view of Sunapee mountain, very well landscaped and SO MANY FUN GAMES (volleyball, tennis, cornhole, ping pong, etc). The 50 guests we had sleep at the inn actually got to know each other over the 3 days there. There is also a converted barn on site that is the perfect low-brow high-fun place to keep the party going late night. Thank you to everyone at Dexter's for their help and relatively relaxed attitudes during a weekend of extreme fun for us and our loved ones.

Dexter’s Inn is a hidden gem of a venue. We had our bridal party, parents and grandparents all stay on site for the entire weekend. We hosted a welcome party for out of town guests on the patio and got married on the beautiful grounds. Although the weather didn’t go exactly as planned, we still had a beautiful ceremony under the tent which transformed into an even better reception space. If you are looking for somewhere you can actually spend time with your guests. This is it!! Also, John the inn keeper is extremely knowledgeable and ensures your weekend goes as planned.

I could never have expected our wedding to be so perfect. We used Dexter’s Inn as our venue, had it for the full weekend, and had the best time. John made sure the events ran smoothly and was very on top of it, taking the time to communicate leading up to the date so we both were on the same page. Between John, the staff and venue, the weekend went better than we could have ever imagined.

We held our wedding on Labor Day weekend 2018. Lots of out of town guests so we were able to fill the Inn with family and friends over the weekend. John allowed the grounds to be available to all friends and guests - regardless of where they stayed - for the whole weekend. Although daunting to me to plan a wedding for 100 guests, John assisted us every step of the way. He helped by gently nudging us as the date got closer, helping us to organize and think through the various details of the weekend. The entire Dexter's staff is ever-present yet unobtrusive. During the day of the wedding, John quietly helped me to keep us on "schedule" moving from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner smoothly. He even watched our wedding rehearsal and helped with the little details like where to walk from, pacing of the bridesmaids, etc.
The daily breakfast is a great benefit for all guests. Allowed us to all meet in the morning as people planned their day. We also used Rolfe - the in house caterer - for a bbq and the wedding reception. The food was wonderful. This was a fabulous venue and a weekend of fun. I highly recommend this venue.

When it came to finding a venue for our wedding we only looked at two venues. When we first drove up to Dexter’s Inn, it had such a great location that felt so relaxing and inviting. The innkeeper John, was so flexible, professional and really made our wedding amazing. From all of our changes we faced, John was so flexible and was so easy to work with....he not only met with us and helped us with our timeline, but he was constantly working throughout the weekend, always around to answer questions and really was apart of our day....John truly loves what he does and takes great pride in Dexter’s Inn. I would highly recommend taking a tour of Dexter’s Inn with John, because he shows you so much and gives you all the information you will need to make a choice. I know we will return to Dexter’s Inn many times in the future because of how amazing our weekend was. So if your looking for a place to create a lasting memory you need to go to Dexter’s Inn, great food, great people, very reasonable pricing and amazing views which all equal an amazing memory you will not forget.
