Facilities and Capacity

The Mediterranean-style Stone House offers an intimate ceremony space in the historical and elegant ballroom, with black-and-white checkered floors and crystal chandeliers. Host your magnificent wedding reception in this space, which can hold up to 1000 guests. The Grand Lawn is perfect for outdoor cocktail receptions and wedding ceremonies with its glistening ocean views. While you and your photographer explore the grounds for breathtaking backdrops, guests can stroll through the first and second floors of the Stone House. You may also enjoy dinner and dancing under the stars in the Courtyard. You and your guests can feel the fresh sea breeze as you toast to a lifetime of making memories together.

Services Offered

Deering Estate offers venue rental services for weddings and other special events. This property can host wedding ceremonies and receptions, from intimate to grand and other wedding-related events. Wedding rehearsals can take place on the premises with up to 30 guests. They offer the flexibility to bring in your team of caterers, florists, and decorations to create your desired wedding vision.

Other Services

This estate includes a museum that your guests may choose to explore. It offers signature events and programs throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy daily tours of historic homes, hikes through lush natural areas, and opportunities to examine prehistoric fossils. The Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department manages Deering Estate.

History

The Deering Estate was originally a winter home owned by Charles Deering, the first chairman of the International Harvest Company. Deering was an avid environmentalist and art collector who took pride in his philanthropic efforts. This 1920s-era property was once a hotel, but it's now preserved as part of the National Register of Historic Places.
