I'm giving Vicki 5 stars, but I have some caveats. It's been about a year and I've had time to reflect, and there are some things that I'd like to make note of so other brides can learn from me.

Pros:
- Very nice and patient
- Was very understanding about my Covid protocols
- Treated everyone very well
- Navigated family relations well
- My shy husband felt super comfortable with her and actually enjoyed taking pictures when she was our photographer (she's a boy mom so I think that she understands men pretty well)
- Got everything on my shot list
- Dealt wonderfully with a very yappy dog (yes, my dog has little dog syndrome but I wanted a picture with her)
- Brings a positive energy
- My wedding planner liked her
- She got some awesome photos
- Very responsive in communicating with me
- Was reasonably priced
- Was able to do a special where the engagement photoshoot was part of the wedding package (I don't know if she still does this)
- Listened to my concerns and made sure to take those into account (for example, my husband was upset with a different photographer for making it look like I'm taller than him, so Vicki made sure not to have this happen in any of her photos)

Cons:
- She left before the end of the wedding (probably because she needed to drive back home to California that night and my wedding was in Reno), but I thought that she was staying until the end (our wedding ended around 5 or 6 p.m. and it was in the summer). She came to say goodbye and said that she was done, and I was kind of overwhelmed with the day (in a good way), so I just said okay and thanks. But, because she left early, she missed getting photos of three very important moments to me--my dad and I karaoking together, my thank you speech to the guests, and everybody doing one last dance. So, I'm really bummed that I don't have those pictures. I'm lucky enough where my wedding planner's assistant videotaped them though. Still, I would have liked to have had those photos. So, make sure that you're clear on her departure time before the wedding.
- Photo editing. She let me know up front that she doesn't heavily edit her photos, which is perfectly fine. But there are some things that I think should have been edited out nonetheless, such as a random person who I didn't know staring awkwardly in the background and an electrical cord hanging from the ceiling. I think that if I were to have asked her in a timely manner to edit those things out, she probably would have. However, I feel like that stuff should just be taken out automatically. So, if that's something you want, then tell her up front.
- The printing prices. I didn't take into account that printing would be extra (I know, stupid on me), so when I went to pick which photos to print, I simply couldn't afford those prices and what I wanted at the time. I had to wait and save up and print them much later. Also, by then, it was past her deadline to ask for prints, so I ended up using Shutterfly. So, ask for the printing prices up front so that you can budget for them.
- Her internet was really rough, so it was difficult to hear what she was saying during our virtual meetings. It's been a year, so maybe she's fixed this. But if you are having her travel out of town for your wedding and you want to talk to her, then you may just want to do phone, text, or email. It probably can be done fine that way.

If I had it to do over again, I would still use her as my photographer because of all of the pros I listed. I would just make some small changes that I listed. Nevertheless, she got some wonderful pictures, I like her style of photography, and I think that she's a very nice person.

Vicki is very easy to work with. Very professional and an amazing person. I highly recommend booking her. She goes above and beyond. Thank you Vicki!

Our wedding photos from Darling Photography (Vicki) are beautiful, well edited, and perfect. We fell in love with Vicki's style from the example online and we are happy to say she did not disappoint. Vicki shot our engagement photos as well. She was so easy to contact and work with. For both our engagement and wedding day, she guided us and our guests for the different photos. We had a lot of fun with her. Our package also included a wedding album. We chose the photos and Vicki put it together with our input. In the end, the album was more beautiful than we imagined. We are so happy we hired Vicki.

Words can’t express the phenomenal job Vicky did for us. She made us feel so comfortable in some of those weird positioning. I am happy that I trusted her process because the photos came out spectacular! I highly recommend Darling Photography!!!!

We had a lot of activity planned for our wedding, including a second line parade. Vicki and her assistant we awesome and got the shots!

We had such a great time working with Viki. My husband and we’re not comfortable in front of the camera but she knows all the tricks to put you at ease and make your photos phenomenal. She did our engagement photos, a venue walkthrough, a full day at the wedding, and an album. She also recommended the most beautiful location for our engagement photos. Not only if she talented but she’s fun to work with and has a great personality.

Vicki did a really great job with our engagement photos and our wedding photos. She was very flexible and she has the best bang for your buck in the Sacramento area. Even when things didn't go as planned on our big day, she helped us through it, and made sure everything turned out how we wanted.

Vicki is the best photographer out there! She handled everything from day of timeline to photo booth fun. She works so hard and made sure that every hair was in place and every photo was perfect! You won't be disappointed!

Vicki was amazing! Super helpful and down for whatever we wanted. She was a huge help the day of when because of a bad accident on the freeway we started the wedding a half hour late, she helped get us back on track after the ceremony with how fast and professional she was. She has no problem telling people what to do and how to get things down quick while keeping a great attitude and a smile on her face. We will definitely be going back to Darling Photography for family photos!
