Extremely unprofessional
Going into the process of planning a wedding and booking a wedding photographer, our two main asks were professionalism and a complete wedding album. This business provided neither. I will detail the many instances of unprofessional behavior we experienced below. We are missing essentially all of the family/bridal party/groom party portraits we took on our wedding day.
We did an engagement photoshoot prior to our wedding, which we confirmed via email on April 20, 2023 for June 17, 2023. We did not have a set time. We hadn’t heard anything in the interim months, so I emailed him on June 11, 2023 again. He responded on June 13, 2023 that he was no longer available on that day and wanted to change to a different day. After a lot of convincing on our end, the engagement shoot did happen on June 17, 2023, although this experience left us with lingering concerns regarding his planning, which unfortunately turned out to be warranted concerns.
We made a timeline for our wedding day (September 15, 2024) in a meeting with Danny on June 27, 2024. We reviewed the timeline with him and sent a copy via email, and again sent him a copy via email on September 2, 2024, to which he replied and confirmed all was set.
On the day of the wedding, we were left waiting for over half an hour after his planned arrival time with no communication. Our bridesmaid eventually called him and he said he would be there soon. No apology or explanation was given. He arrived with his second shooter (who had a large Starbucks coffee in hand) 40 minutes after his planned arrival time. His second shooter did not have the timeline and was not aware that we had a schedule. We gave Danny and the second shooter extra printed copies we had on hand, since they did not have them. Our getting ready photos were rushed so that we could make sure to get to the family photographs, which were one of the most important things to us.
We allocated 45 minutes to take portraits with our parents, bridesmaids, groomsmen, my husband’s siblings, my sibling, and my grandfather in various combinations. In the wedding album we received, there are only two photos from this entire time. Again to emphasize this, essentially all of those photographs we took with our families and bridal party and groom party are not in the album we received.
We noticed this immediately after reviewing the photos. We emailed Danny on the same day that we received the album from him to thank him for the photographs and ask about the missing photographs. We received no response over the course of several months, including us following up in multiple ways (emails from my husband/me, phone call, Instagram).
After reaching out to him politely starting on December 8, 2024, we sent a formal legal request letter on February 10, 2025 informing him of our intent to pursue action against him if we continued not to hear from him. His reply on February 21, 2025 was simply “All photos have been delivered”. This was the first and only time we have heard from him after he sent us the wedding album.
Danny offers the option to purchase the complete set of photographs taken on the wedding day both in his contract and on his website. We asked to do this in our legal letter, and again in an email afterwards. For a reason that he has not communicated to us, he has not accepted our offer of additional payment for these photographs.
We are missing essentially all of our family portraits and at this point it looks like we are never getting them. While we do like the photos that we have, in no way was what we received a complete wedding album. My beloved 91-year-old grandfather with Parkinson’s disease and who uses a wheelchair traveled for 3 hours to attend our wedding, and the portraits we took with him are gone. These memories are priceless to us.
Ultimately, we paid thousands of dollars to be treated like an afterthought and an inconvenience. Our precious family photographs are gone.
