We are still 6 months out from our wedding date, but thus far the DANK Haus team has been incredibly accommodating! Monica is fantastic to work with and has been willing to arrange multiple walkthroughs for me and my fiancé to get to know the space (and to match linen swatches to the Skyline Lounge!). You also can’t beat the value of this space, as it comes with tables & chairs, a bartender (!!!), and even ice all included in the cost!

We just had our wedding there, and it was amazing. I'm so thrilled with our decision! After we got engaged, we naturally started looking at venues. We had reached out to a few, but hadn't heard anything back after a few days. A friend recommended Dank Haus to us, and I'm so glad. We called, Monika answered and said we could come right over and check it out. We live about a 10 min walk from there, so went right over. We liked it right away. The venue itself was beautiful. We wanted something different than the traditional banquet room, and this fit the bill. We also felt very comfortable with Monika. They were also very flexible. We could use any caterer and could even provide our own liquor, to save money. We decided then and there to go with their ballroom. The venue cost was pretty reasonable, from what we'd seen. Throughout the process, Monika was great. Any questions we had, she was always quickly to respond and helpful. I really appreciated that! We were able to load all our stuff in a few days before the wedding, and had help getting it in. The day of, everything seemed to run smoothly as well. Afterwards, we were also able to get help picking stuff up. I highly recommend this place. The price is decent, they are very helpful, and above all else the venue is beautiful.

We loved our DANK Haus wedding. We made our own beer and wine and brought in outside food (Filipino!), and also had 250+ guests. This led us to but a few options in Chicago, but we couldn't be happier. DANK Haus supplies the chairs and tables, you supply just about everything else. We ultimately saved a fair amount of money this way, as we bought/re-sold some supplies, borrowed others, and generally saved many thousands by producing our own alcohol (lots of work, of course, but worth it!). You'll need to bring in outside catering staff, too. While the place is definitely a bit old, it is very charming and has plenty of space for big, fun weddings. Our DJ brought his own speakers, which were better than their in-house system. Also, in terms of beer, the chest fridges behind the bar perfectly fit some homebrew kegs, and we had some commercial kegs running through their elegant German beer tower. If your wedding is a) big b) wants outside (particularly reliable ethnic) food and c) you wanna save on booze, DANK Haus is your place. Doerthe and company were responsive, informed, understanding, and helpful. Plus, they're a non-profit keeping German culture vibrant in Chicago, so your money goes to a good cause, too!
