I initially contacted her 3 months prior to our wedding as I thought I could do it all on my own - big mistake! She jumped right in and handled absolutely everything in such a timely and calm manner. Wedding day was upon us and she made sure everything was done, we had time to chill/rest/relax knowing that she would handle all the details. When we started the wedding planning process, we knew we wanted to hire a day of coordinator. My career is in project management, but I wouldn't have been able to be as prepared and organized without the help of Composure. I researched and interviewed 4 local planning companies and knew Composure was the right fit because of their experience and professionalism.

Although we only used them for "day-of-coordinating", it still came with numerous benefits such as weekly email reminders and tips that you should be thinking about, regular check-ins and an above and beyond service on the day of your wedding.

We started planning in January 2024 and our wedding was July 2024. Though it was a shorter-than-normal time frame, no details were left out. We were lucky enough to have the full planning package, so Cori and her expertise were at our disposal. Every meeting was detailed, yet efficient. If I wasn't on track with a task, she would kindly follow up. She made sure all vendors knew the details and would always keep me looped in.

She always responded in a quick manner, no matter the time of the day.

She never pressured us to go beyond our hoped for budget, and always reassured that no matter what we did, she would make sure it was perfect. She provided great advice and was a great confidant when I needed it most.

She also has the best selection of preferred vendors around the Kansas City area, some of which come with discounts because of the partnership. Our wedding was at the Loews Kansas City.

The day of, she was always by my side making sure I was ok and that I had what I needed (drinks, makeup, etc). Her team day of was also extremely professional and made sure nothing went wrong, and if it did, I didn't know about it.

Genevieve and the Composure team were wonderful help bringing our dream wedding to life! We utilized their “Day Of” package where meetings began about 2 months out from our wedding day and Genevieve helped keep us on track for final planning and make sure the day was executed correctly. She was detailed, organized, and knew our hired vendors well so it was easy coordinate everything. A big bonus from working with Composure was getting their preferred vendor list from the very start which made our planning process so much easier! We were very happy with all the vendors we worked with off of their list.

WOW. I do not even know how explain how wonderful it was to work with Composure Events for our wedding. We specifically worked with Cori and booked the Fully Composed package to have full-service planning from start to finish, and we have zero regrets. Cori and her team are professional, organized, enthusiastic, and creative. I felt at ease and stress-free throughout the entire planning process. I never had questions about what we needed to do next or what vendors we should book for the best experience, because Cori always had it handled with the best ideas, and organized timeline, and trusted vendor recommendations. Every vendor she recommended delivered exactly how she said they would. We were so pleased!! Not only did Cori help our special day come together so seamlessly, she doubled as our moral support, friend, and sounding board. Especially the day of the wedding, she was always there with a shout wipe, lip gloss, Advil, a hug, or a drink of course :) An honorable mention was the night of our rehearsal dinner, it rained and we were having an outdoor garden party. Rain was not in the forecast, so we did not have a tent. Cori ran to the Dollar Tree and rushed back with as many umbrellas as she could find. She was always there to save the day! Our design came together so beautifully. Cori and her team brought our Pinterest board to life, and even better than we could have imagined. Composure Events has an eye for high quality material and cares about every detail. Overall, we could not have chosen a better team for our wedding planning process and we would recommend Composure Events to anyone and everyone.

I'm so happy we hired Composure and they made our day perfect! Genevieve was amazing and was very professional. She made our day run smoothly and I was stress free, which is very important for a bride. They are well known in KC and have a good reputation with other wedding vendors. I had complete trust in them and I know my day wouldn't have gone the way it did without Genevieve.

We came to Composure initially drawn by their “TheModern” package – something that allowed us to have someone alongside us for our entire engagement, but that still left the vendor discussions and decisions in our hands (which I liked). They also had great options for folks who just wanted a coordinator closer to the day of, OR on the other end of the spectrum having more full “white-glove” planning services, but this middle package was exactly right for us and something we didn’t really see at the other planners we looked into.

From our first conversation, my husband and I were amazed by how easy it was to talk to Sarah, how many tools Composure had at the ready to guide us through the process, month-by-month, from start to finish, and how thorough and candid she and Cori were in responding to all of our initial questions. That made it an easy choice from the start, and every meeting, e-mail, and sidebar text I had with Sarah from that point on reinforced our choice. (Not to mention the automated “helpful tip” e-mails that would come to us from Composure every so often, timed based on our date – such a nice touch!)

It was evident every time we met that Sarah had so much knowledge not just about the industry in general but about the vendors in the KC area specifically – it felt like the suggestions she made for our vendors were really tailored not only to our preferences and price ranges, but also to our personalities, which was so massive for this very awkward and unprepared bride. Not only that, but she also had great advice and tons of past experiences to draw on when we had questions about etiquette or how to handle certain situations – and we had plenty of those! Her eye for design when pulling together our rentals and other little details was also immaculate… I am hopeless when it comes to décor/design so I needed all the help I could get, and she was so patient with me every time I sat and stared for a while – “buffered”, if you will – at a small design element she was showing me.

When everything came together on the day of… wow. I literally can’t even stand how perfect it was. It was the most seamless day from start to finish. I remember feeling the night before like I knew every individual piece would be great on its own, but was uneasy about how it would look when it was all put together… and as soon as I saw it all I couldn’t imagine why I had ever felt like that. It was like, where any “vision” I had of my day was blurry beforehand, or fragmented or altogether not there, suddenly there it was. It was cozy, and dreamy, and moody, and somehow felt intimate without being at all stuffy or crowded. And I would have never thought to pull all of those things together the way we did – not without Sarah’s patience, advice, gentle reminders, and support along the way. It was a long year planning for us, not without stress, but I know 100% that I would have had an absolute mental breakdown if we didn’t have her by our side.

I’ll wrap this review up by just saying, brides and grooms – if you’re looking for someone who will guide you through the wedding planning process leading up to your big day (occasionally over a flight of beer), and who will work to swiftly remove any potential stressors ON your big day (occasionally by appearing out of nowhere with a glass of prosecco), AND who is just a joy to be around – Sarah is your gal, Composure is your team. We (and our families) can’t say enough how wonderful it was to work with them.

We involved Cori and her wonderful team from the beginning of our wedding planning process. She made the whole engagement much more simple and relaxed pace at meetings really breaking down tasks so it never felt like too much at once. We got to enjoy our entire wedding day and soak in all the magic they created for us. All issues day of we’re handled perfectly (including a transport issue that they resolved so beautifully we didn’t even know there was one until we debriefed the whole day later!). My husband and I decided to go with Composure Events as our Day of Coordinator. We were really looking for someone who understood the contemporary and modern vibe that we wanted at our wedding and they fit that role perfectly. Despite them only being a Day of Coordinator, they were extremely hands on throughout our engagement and wedding planning process. She took care of everything the day of the wedding: working with other vendors to set up and tear down our venue, ensuring we stayed on time, answering questions for friends and family so I did’t have to - you name it and she was there. I cannot describe how much stress she relieved for the day of our wedding and how perfect our day was because of Sarah. If you are considering a DOC - do it and do it with Composure.
