Colonial Cupcakes baked and delivered a six inch wedding cutting cake and 360 mini cupcakes to our event. This bakery bakes "homestyle" cupcakes. They aren't overly decorative, but they are pretty and super delicious. Our favorite flavor was definitely the red velvet! Our guests enjoyed the fact that they could sample several different flavors throughout our event!

Definitely stop by Colonial Cupcakes if you are in the Fredericksburg area to at least try these yummy cupcakes out when considering different vendors to make your wedding cake!

We had Colonial Cupcake make 100 cupcakes and an 8inch cutting cake for our wedding in March. They had the most reasonable pricing among most of the cupcakes vendors in the area. Their cupcakes were simple, yet delicious! We had a free tasting for our first meeting and decided on chocolate cake and yellow cake cupcakes with vanilla frosting and red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. These were simple flavors, but everyone raved about them! Very moist and flavorful. I wanted the frosting colors to be a mix of pale green and pale purple and Colonial Cupcake was very accommodating with my specific color requests. We even met before my wedding to make sure the colors they had in mind were right. We requested that our cutting cake be funfetti flavored and they were more than willing to take this request too! They came in on the day of my wedding (I didn’t even see them) and set everything up beautifully on our homemade cupcake stand and added our custom caketopper. The display was perfect! My only issue was that a strawberry frosting was added as a filling to our cutting cake and this was never requested or discussed. It was a very small error in the grand scheme of things though and we will definitely continue to be customers of Colonial Cupcake!

We decided to have cupcakes for our reception on October 1, 2011, and hired Colonial Cupcakes. They held a free tasting for us with the flavors we selected. The cupcakes were good (I must admit I am not a big fan of sweets) and the flavor selection was unique. Everything went fine on our wedding day. The cupcakes were exactly what we ordered and they looked great.

Communication with this bakery was often difficult and confusing. It didn't seem that the employees, manager, and owner spoke to each other at all. Response time was very slow, and we had to repeat information several times to get it right.
