Honey Horn Wedding- Spring 2022

Despite living on Hilton Head for almost 20 years, my husband isn’t a beach guy, so when we were looking for venues I wanted to find a location that captured the beauty of Hilton Head but wasn’t too beachy. We were a “Covid couple” and had to rebook our wedding two times before we were finally able to celebrate with family and friends in April of 2022. Robin was amazing to work with, with all of the planning leading up to, and including the day of on the day of, she even recommended our wedding planner that we ended up using- Trish Beck. The venue is so beautiful and captures all of the gorgeous elements of Hilton Head that we wanted to capture. After our postponements, with over two years in the making, the big day was everything we hoped it would be- everything came together as we had hoped and it was such a beautiful day.

Beautiful Wedding Venue

The most beautiful wedding venue! Everything was so gorgeous and out together so well! We were taken away by everything. So worth having your wedding here! You have to rent EVERYTHING from tables to chairs, etc. it was a little more than we were expecting, but still so worth it.

100% recommend!

Where do I begin? This venue is absolutely stunning and will ALWAYS have a special place in our hearts. We found this venue while vacationing in Hilton Head just by happenstance. Once we stepped foot on it we literally did not look at any other venues. So many options for where to have your ceremony with the big beautiful trees. Unfortunately it rained cats and dogs on our wedding day so our ceremony got moved under the pavilion, but the pavilion was still romantically beautiful, dim, and when you have lights underneath it is just magical. It offered adequate shelter for rain and the trees surrounding the pavilion help even more.

Beyond the beauty of the venue, the rock star of the venue is truly Robin Swift. She helps you through the booking process and in our opinion an absolute gem. We had our own wedding coordinator but Robin is on site the entire day helping with the event from start to finish. She carts you around in the golf cart to take photos, helped our older guests get to their transportation, and always answered my countless emails leading up to the day. She even met with me for about an hour a few months before the wedding on -site and helped me visualize how things would work the day of and answered SO many questions. Can't thank her enough for all her hard work- especially during our monsoon of a wedding day!! Thank you CDM and Robin!! - Emma & Austin

We can't wait for our dream wedding at Honey Horn!

Gary and I are so excited about our upcoming wedding next March in Hilton Head, SC at Honey Horn Plantation. We coordinated our date with the Robin, the event coordinator at Coastal Discovery Museum. She made the process SO simple and was happy to speak with my parents about the arrangements also! She was super quick to respond with available dates and has already made us feel very special.

Great Experience at the Coastal Discovery Museum

Growing up on the island, I knew I would one day get married there, and the Coastal Discovery Museum was absolutely perfect. The venue is beautiful, and it truly wowed our visiting guests. Robin was incredibly responsive and helpful. A note is there are several rules and regulations at the venue; however, none that will prevent you from having an absolute blast.

The first time I stepped foot on Honey Horn Plantation my husband and I knew it was where we had to get married. He loves history and the outdoors and I love hilton head and the southern/ coastal feel of the property. We had our ceremony under the spanish moss covered trees and reception under the pavilion and it could not have been more perfect. I wanted to add alot of my own decor and details and this venue allowed me to make it my own!

We LOVED our experience at Honey Horn at the Coastal Discovery Museum! Robin Swift was fantastic to work with and even helped on the day of our wedding shuttling us back and forth for pictures and helping our older guests get to and from the ceremony site. This venue does have a strict 10PM shut down time due to town noise ordinances, but for the rental fee gets you the site for the entire day so no worries about having to share space with other brides and grooms. The site is unmatched for Low Country scenery and has a ton of areas for pictures and for your guests to explore. Highly recommend!

A gorgeous venue with great spots for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Transportation to and from was easy, and the site manager made sure we didn't miss any of the details.

As soon I saw The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn I knew I had to have my wedding there. It gave me the true southern, vintage feel I was looking for but also the Hilton Head Island vibe with it being right on the marsh. My grandmother actually remembers playing on the property when she was a child. The property is so beautiful that your decorations can be minimal (which saved some money on flowers) and your pictures will still turn out beautiful. Robin is very professional and eager to help. She also recommended a few great vendors to me during our first meeting. We rented the whole property and it was a little more than we had planned to spend but totally worth it! I got so many compliments on how beautiful the property was. I highly recommend The Coastal Discovery Museum for any event.
