Barett Henry and his team were wonderful to work with! Barett photographed our engagement photos, bridals, and wedding and we have received so many compliments on them all. He made us feel comfortable and was full of great ideas. He was very responsive and so easy to communicate with over the period of almost an entire year. Truly one of the easiest and best vendors we worked with. We’re so happy we have the memories of our wedding captured in his beautiful photos!

Barett and his wife were amazing at taking our engagement photos and wedding day photos. They were extremely timely, professional, and made being in front of the camera very easy and natural. We also received both sets of photos in record time and they came out beautifully. Highly recommend!!!!!

Finding and hiring Civic Photos was the absolute best thing we did to make all our wedding photography dreams come true. They listened to everything we wanted for our wedding and went above and beyond. The pictures they captured of my husband, and I are my favorite and even helped us come up with the timeline to get the best lighting and poses for photos. I cannot say enough amazing things about these wonderful photographers (Barett and his wife). The photos were absolutely breath taking and they delivered them to us in record time. They are extremely professional and easy to work with. Definitely recommend!

As the title says, whatever photography need you have upcoming you need to talk to Barrett! Incredibly professional in all aspects of what you need from your photographer! We reached out to Barrett after deciding our previous photographer wasn't to our liking and he quickly calmed our worries about making the switch from his beginning presentation. We loved his photography style as it was very editorial, made for magazines! Which made sense as part of his presentation included magazine spreads that previous couples were in.

Barrett himself is very detailed oriented, which is what you need on your wedding day. His wife, Yorlin, was also a wonderful assistant and second shooter. She has quite the calming influence and was an immense help to my wife during the wedding day.

Back to the photography, its very clear that Barrett is very intentional with every photograph he takes. The attention to every lighting detail, background, color, etc is evident in the photos he returns. He was also able to give us next day sneak peeks on some of the photos and gave us our whole wedding photos TWO DAYS after our wedding! TWO DAYS! Unheard of, but it just speaks to how Barrett pays attention to the setup of the photos before taking them, allowing him to have minimal touch up or editing in the photos.

We can't thank Barrett and Yorlin for far exceeding our any expectations that we could possibly have. You can't possibly go wrong with this husband/wife duo. Be prepared to be blown away by your photos. Your photos are something that you should be completely happy with, as it'll last a lifetime. Sadly, we won't have another wedding for Barrett to shoot with us, so we are hoping this review will give you the final push you need to book Civic Photos.

LOOK NO FURTHER!! Civic photos was an absolute joy to work with throughout our engagement and wedding. TLDR: Civic photos is fabulous for quality photos on a budget, gave us unlimited time, and were quick turnaround on getting photos back to us. Would 100% use them again! We hired Barett and Yorlin after a terrible engagement shoot with a different vendor, and we're so glad we did. We did a package for an engagement shoot, bridals, and our wedding/reception. One of the reasons we hired them was because they did not put a time limit on how long we had them during our wedding day. They were there from the beginning until the end, and I didn't have to worry about how much it would cost us if they were there for an extra hour or whatever. One less thing to worry about. For the engagement shoot, we took photos near rice university, Herman park, and downtown Houston with three changes of clothes. We even brought our dogs to join in! Barett did this shoot, and we were incredibly comfortable - even my husband (who's normally a little awkward with photos) looked incredibly natural in them!
Barett made sure to get all sorts of angles with various lighting, you'd think we went to several different venues. Both Barett and Yorlin did my bridals, which took place at the Junior League of Houston. Their eye for detail was so impressive — they would fix and floof my dress as needed I had a large dress so it was very appreciated), have me stand in certain spots to capture certain lighting. In fact, my favorite photo from this entire shoot was taken on a couch in a bathroom! Barett said to trust them, and their vision for the shot was spectacular.
We did our getting ready photos at Whitehall, ceremony at the Co-cathedral of the Sacred Heart, and reception at the Junior League. They got all the details in my bridal suite as well as the groom's getting ready photos. We didn't really have a way of getting to the church — Yorlin and Barett gave me a ride in my dress and everything! The cathedral has strict guidelines for photographers, and Barett and Yorlin were great at respecting/complying with those rules WHILE still getting all the shots! My husband and I had time during the cocktail hour for photos together with Barett, while Yorlin photographed our guests and the details at the cocktail hour and the room at our reception. They were very discreet in taking photos throughout the reception, which was really appreciated. I could focus on
conversations with our friends and family, but if we ever needed a quick photo, one of the two was always there! We went on our honeymoon for two weeks after the wedding, and all our edited photos were ready for us by the time we came back! Not to mention, they gave us every photo they took of the day — it was about 7,000 photos! I prefer this to having a photographer send me some but not all and letting me pick which one we like better. Of course, after all three shoots Barett sent us sneak peaks just a few hours later. He even had our wedding published in Modern Luxury Houston magazine, which was really neat! We loved Civic Photos, and I highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

Civic photos met and exceeded my expectations for my wedding! My husband and I are not the most photogenic people out there but all our photos turned out fantastic. Barett does a great job of making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. He took our engagements photos, my bridals and did our wedding. He was responsive and communicative the entire process. Even let us reschedule our engagement photos the night before because it was going to be 40-50 degrees during the shoot. His wife joined him on the wedding day to help shoot my girls and I. She was wonderful and they both had a great vision and got all the shots we needed and more. They were flexible with ideas from me and worked well with the videographer I hired. Could not have asked for a better duo to help capture my wedding day!

The Civic Photos team was amazing!! They were constantly hyping me up throughout my bridal session and the wedding day. They were absolutely awesome and had such great attention to detail. They perfectly captured the all the love and happiness on our big day!!

Barett took our engagement and wedding photos. The pictures are beautiful and exactly what we hoped for! During the engagement shoot, he was very responsive in texting back and helped us decide where we wanted to have our photoshoot. During the wedding, both him and his wife wanted to utilize the beautiful scenic areas of the venue and helped guide what kind of poses would work best for the entire bridal party. Their goal was to create a beautiful shot and they made sure little details/items would not be seen in the mirrors or in the background. We really do appreciate that! We are also impressed how quick he is on sending sneak peek photos and sending back our wedding album! We had our wedding a week ago and we already have our wedding photos! We are glad we chose Civicphotos!

Barett and Yorlin did a wonderful job at our wedding!! I am in love with all the results. From engagement shoot to the wedding day, I am in love with all the photos. They had great ideas and creative suggestions, but also listened to my husband and I to make sure they knew what were important elements to us. They even made sure all the tiny details were perfect such as fixing my hair and readjusting my veil for photos.
