We couldn't have made a better choice with City BBQ for our wedding food! During our first meeting with Veneisha, you could immediately tell she was an authentic individual. She is truly one of the reasons why we trusted her with our day! Her communication was timely, clear, and thoughtful — every question we had was answered quickly, and she made the entire planning process feel easy and stress-free.

On the big day, the team showed up early, fully prepared, and completely professional. They worked seamlessly with our venue and other vendors, and their setup was absolutely beautiful — rustic and elegant.
Now, let’s talk about the food. At the tasting, we had difficulties deciding what to serve our guests because we LOVED everything. The smoked brisket was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, the pulled pork had just the right amount of kick, and the sides? Don’t even get me started on the mac and cheese and cornbread pudding — they were next-level delicious. We had a guest born and raised in Louisiana, and almost cried when having the green beans because they brought her back home! Our guests are still talking about it a month later. We debated on what it would be like to challenge the ‘status quo’ of traditional wedding food, and are so glad that we did. It was so worth it.

Every single team member went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of with a smile. The food was always hot and stocked promptly. You could feel the passion and pride in every interaction. Jadia, Avion, Sharnice, Katty, Jasmine, Lourie and Janice, we are so grateful you were with us on our day! We invited them to enjoy the wedding dancefloor and these ladies DELIVERED (not only our food) but incredible energy and amazing vibes.

Veneisha was extremely responsive and helpful even up to a couple weeks before she gave birth (which happened on our wedding day)! She’s definitely a professional at this and really helped us think through our menu and hors d'oeuvres. The tasting was also easy to schedule and a delightful time where Veneisha walked us through all our options and we left with leftovers! Even with such a major life event happening for Veneisha, the City Barbeque team as a whole was great to work with! Their staff were extremely sweet and helpful on the day of and clearly were committed to helping make our day lovely. The food on the day of was also fantastic, everybody commented that they loved it (we got the brisket and the smoked chicken) and folks were going back for seconds. The corn pudding and the potato salad were especially amazing. Overall it was great food, fast and responsive communication, and fantastic service!

City BBQ was an absolute dream to work with, thanks to Veneisha. From the first point of contact, throughout the planning, and at the wedding itself, she was so friendly, communicative, and thoughtful. We were lucky to have Veneisha at the wedding to ensure everything ran smoothly and she even brought an assortment of food to our table so my husband and I could have a quiet moment to ourselves. The food was delicious and I still hear compliments from our wedding guests about it. The presentation was lovely, the buffet lines ran smoothly, and everything was so well-organized. We cannot recommend City BBQ enough!

City BBQ is the best BBQ we've ever had. From our first tasting to wedding night, City BBQ was nothing but amazing in every aspect. Always responsive. Easy to work with. More than competitive pricing. Friendly staff. Tremendous food. The brisket sliced on location is so good. We received many positive comments about the food and presentation from guests. We highly recommend you use City BBQ if you are considering BBQ for your event. And make sure you get the peach cobbler and homemade whipped cream!

We were SO happy with our experience with City BBQ. Veneisha was incredibly kind, helpful, and communicative throughout the whole planning process. She answered all of our questions quickly and made everything easy. On the day of, the City BBQ team was amazing. The room turnarounds were quick, the service was fast, and they were constantly asking us if we needed anything. The food was SO GOOD and we heard from most of our guests that it was the best wedding food they ever had, and I agreed! Also couldn't beat the price. I would highly highly recommend them!

We had two requirements when trying to choose a caterer for our wedding: We wanted buffet style BBQ, and we wanted it to be guaranteed that none of our guests would go home hungry.

From our initial tasting and consultation, Veneisha worked with us continuously to put together the perfect menu for us. In the months leading up to our wedding day, we had
multiple changes and alterations to the menu (like adding vegetarian and vegan options, for example) and these were updated for us instantly each time.

Everything at City BBQ is honestly so good that we had a hard time just choosing just a few entrees and sides. Veneisha provided honest advice for us to help us choose and ensure that all of our guests would enjoy the dinner. No one went home hungry and the staff even provided take home containers for our guests to take
whatever was left. Last, and most important, the food is some of the best BBQ you can find in the city!

Veneisha and the staff (Angela, Avion, & C.J.) very attentive and friendly with guests. The presentation was great, the food was even better! Everyone loved the food, we did not order enough! Would do to all over again.

City Barbecue was the perfect caterer for our wedding. The food was so delicious and many of our guests commented on how great it was. The setup of the buffet was so unique and beautifully decorated, unlike traditional buffets. The servers were incredible and made sure that everything was perfect for all of the guests. They kept the food warm and bused tables, and made sure all of my guests were satisfied. The overall experience was amazing. The caterer manager was perfect with her communication skills and knowledge of wedding events. I was amazed at how responsive she was with answering questions I had. I highly recommend them for any event!

Honestly, I typically don’t leave reviews but I will for City BBQ! From the very start, Veneisha made our decision SO easy. She was so sweet and very professional! She helped us decide the best set up for our backyard wedding & the caterers we’re just beyond great themselves. The food… oh myyyy! Our guests continue to talk about the food a month later. If you are unsure, just do it!! They will not disappoint. Thank you, City BBQ, Veneisha & the team. Y’all are truly amazing.

Lisa at City BBQ in Cary was very communicative with us, and helped us with all the selections and quantities that we needed. They were happy to add busing the tables to our service, and were very open to us bringing in extra vegan options and serving them. No complaints about the food, our guests loved all of it!! No reason to pay $150/plate for seated dinner when you can get appetizers, bbq, an abundance of sides, vegan and veggie friendly options, drinks, and service all for considerably less!
