From the very first tasting to the last bite on our wedding night, our experience with Christopher Michael catering was extraordinary. We wanted our dinner to feel like a Michelin-star-rated experience, and they delivered that and more.
Our guest are still talking about the hors d'oeuvres passed around during cocktail hour. As the bride, I unfortunately did not get to enjoy that hour between pictures and getting ready for our entrance into the reception, but Matt thinks of all that, and every time I turned around there was a plate for my husband, wedding party and I waiting. The lobster rolls were my favorite. They were very popular amongst our guest as well.
The French-style service was flawless. The food came out piping hot and our guest really enjoyed being able to eat a little of each meat brought out. They didn't have to pick an entree; they were served everything! They were able to eat the chicken, tuna, AND steak if they wanted! The dishes were bursting with flavor.
One thing that truly sets them apart is their gift for hospitality. Each server and bartender treated our guests with warmth and professionalism. I had a cocktail on my table every time I turned around with fresh ice. Although, I didn't get to drink much lol.
I would love to comment on my communication with them; however, I eventually hired wedding planners to take care of that on my behalf. They did mention that Christine is very professional and easy to communicate with. Before I brought them on though, Matt was very quick to return any calls and even did a house visit during one of my pre-wedding panic attacks to assure me that he had it!
If you're looking for a caterer who elevates food and brings genuine heart to their work, Christopher Michaels catering is it! I will 100% recommend them and use them for any future celebrations. Thank you, Matt, and team!

We had a wonderful experience with Matt and his team with Christopher Michael catering. Matt was responsive, communicative, and straightforward. He gave us advice and suggestions for various things which was very helpful. He was flexible, allowing us to make small modifications to the menu as desired. His team was fantastic. Christine, our point of contact for the 30 days before the wedding and the day of the wedding responded quickly to emails and was very attentive on the day of the wedding. The food was great! The guests loved the French service option so they could try multiple things instead of only choosing one entree. Highly recommend working with Christopher Michael catering for your wedding.

Working with Matt and the Christopher Michael Catering team was maybe the best decision we made for our May wedding in my parent's backyard on LI. We had a lot of frustrating conversations with big catering companies, and the minute we spoke with Matt we knew we needed to hire him - even before we had tried any of the incredible food! Matt and his entire team are a dream to work with - they know what works and what doesn't, offer great advice, and are just really lovely people! Even better - they offered everything we needed to make an offsite backyard wedding run smoothly - from chairs and tables to china and linens and even a coordinator to help us with minor decor and logistics. When our ceremony ended 30 minutes early - Matt and the staff adjusted quickly to make it happen - quickly opening bars to serve drinks and bring out food. The team was so kind and responsive - and so good at their jobs! Our guests are a tough crowd when it comes to food (especially steak) and they couldn't stop raving about the cocktail hour and the dinner! Everything was cooked so perfectly, and the staff made it so much fun! A few weeks later, guests are still talking to me about how funny the bartenders were and how much fun they had with the "cannoli guy" who came out and served guests cannolis while they were dancing on the dance floor! Matt felt like a real partner as we planned our wedding and we are so grateful!

Christopher Michael was everything we could have asked for and more! Many of our guests shared that the meal they had at our wedding was the best wedding food they had ever had - delicious from start to end and very high quality ingredients! The staff were responsive and very kind as well. I highly recommend Christopher Michael catering!

Christopher Michael Catering was the best catering at any Northfork Venue. We got married July 30, 2022 at Brecknock Hall. Our guests raved about the food and loved the French-style service at our wedding. Matt Kar impressed us as a chef and owner who was personable and involved with us each step of the way as we planned our wedding. He was easy to contact, helpful and took the time to meet with us when selecting the menu. The food was outstanding and our guests enjoyed trying each entree as his team brought everyone seconds. They are still talking about it!

Cocktail hour was perfect as everyone loved how tasty it was along with our signature drinks. Dinner was seamless and delicious. The best part, was they surprised us with the tastiest pastries for dessert, which were the perfect touch. The entire catering team was excellent, took great care of us and we couldn't be happier with the way it turned out!! He was our top choice and was the best to work with!

We can’t thank you all enough for the best service and care on our wedding day! Everything ran smoothly and, as the bride, I didn’t stress or worry about anything the entire night. The whole catering staff was phenomenal and very kind to us and our family. Food of course was unbelievably good and everyone absolutely loved the “French” style dinner. Thank you again!

Matt Kar is the owner of the Jamesport Manor Inn/Dimon Estate and Christopher Michael Catering. He was originally catering our wedding when it was at JMI and we ended up sticking with Matt to cater our wedding at Duck Walk when we had to change venues. We really appreciated how empathetic and accommodating he was given our situation and venue change within 2 months of our wedding.
We are so glad we stuck with Christopher Michael Catering because the food was SO incredibly delicious, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about the food. Matt has his own staff and offers a “French style” menu where you choose several entrees and sides and the servers come around multiple times to offer seconds and thirds to everyone. They cook onsite and the food was fresh, hot and unlimited. Matt’s site coordinator, Christine was an absolute angel, and I appreciated her flexibility and willingness to take on the challenge of coordinating at a site she has never coordinated before and was unfamiliar with the site staff, layout, and flow of the day. We did not have a wedding planner, so she was my point contact for coordinating the whole day. Christine came through for us and our day went off without a hitch. Matt’s team truly stepped up to the plate, went above and beyond and knocked it out of the park.

Christopher Michael Catering made my wedding day unforgettable. My guests could not stop raving about the food! The staff was so helpful and kind, Jaclyn worked so hard to make sure everything ran smoothly on our wedding day. Working with Matt and Christine was stress free and they were always quick to respond to my emails and any questions I had. Christopher Michael Catering took care of everything and made wedding planning a lot less hectic I could not recommend this wonderful company more !

From our first interaction Matt Kar was professional and caring. He answered any of our questions or concerns in a timely manner. The majority of tasks and requests we had were expertly handled by him and his staff. The catering manager, Christine, was extremely detail oriented and made sure we were comfortable and happy with everything at the wedding. She went above and beyond to ensure the day went smoothly with minimal input needed from us the day of. The onsite staff, especially Jaclyn and Trisha, were incredible, frequently checking in with myself and my husband to ensure we had anything we might need. For guests with allergies, all the staff were vigilant and would make sure there were items to offer them that they could enjoy. We used the French Style service, many of our guests are still raving about the variety and how delicious everything was. We used Christopher Michael for all of the rentals as well. They did a beautiful job with the entire event.

We do not have enough words to express our gratitude for all the Christopher Michael team did to make our wedding beyond anything we ever could have imagined. The food was fantastic- everyone was raving about it all night long! The service was FIVE STARS and truly a “well oiled machine”- it was seamless.
