About

Camino Real Ranch is a wedding and event venue in Dale, Texas, conveniently located between Austin, San Marcos, and Bastrop. Once a fully operational farm, the estate has retained many of the unique features of the 6-acre farm and has incorporated a modern desert twist. Ideal for those seeking something a little different, this site can play host to the wedding you’ve always dreamed of.

Facilities and Capacity

With several indoor and outdoor facilities, couples who celebrate at Camino Real Ranch have endless possibilities to coordinate their incredible event at this expansive property. The Greenhouse is a stunning 3,400 square foot oasis that makes for memorable ceremonies and receptions. This event space is decorated with wagon-wheel chandeliers and a wall of vintage windows that boast views of the nearby pond and grove of mesquite trees. There is no shortage of beautiful plant life and diffused natural light. The Greenhouse can be configured in many ways and can accommodate up to 200 guests for a seated dinner or 250 for a ceremony or cocktail hour. The Quonset Hut is a two-story event space that is great for cocktail hours and receptions that run long into the night. This 1,900 square foot area includes front and back patio spaces accessed via large glass garage doors, perfect for overflow and mingling. For those seeking to make the most of the gorgeous Texan sunshine, the large property pond can serve as a backdrop for a private ceremony perfectly framed by two arched mesquite trees. Tenting or a traditional teepee can be erected for outdoor receptions on the 20’ diameter concrete pad. This cool cozy space has ample room for a bar, seating area, or a guest activation. For those looking for a unique ceremony configuration, a circular ceremony site can be set up around the teepee pad.

Services Offered

Before the big moment arrives, the wedding parties can prepare and relax in our charming renovated 1940’s farmhouse. Complete with a kitchen and full bathroom, the house is a serene space to unwind before the big walk down the aisle. An on-site venue manager will be on-hand to ensure that every fine detail is addressed before your big day. They can provide you with an extensive list of trusted vendors who have previously worked at Camino Real Ranch but will happily work with the vendors of your choosing. Food trucks are welcome and encouraged. You are also welcome to pre-wedding venue walkthroughs to help you envision your celebration.

June 23’ Wedding

Camino was a true gem! We booked almost 1.5 out and watching the amount they invested into each space made our day so special. The layout and flexibility of Camino is ideal to express creativity without limitations. Nicole, Jenn and Dani were wonderful to work with and made sure all of our guests were taken care of. My ONLY negative is the greenhouse needs additional ac. We had to rent a large unit to help with the Texas heat which cost us an extra $1500 despite splitting it 50/50 with another wedding that weekend. Overall, we had a great experience and so thankful for Camino and their staff!

Camino made our day memorable

Camino Real Ranch made our wedding unforgettable. From a communication standpoint, Jenn and Nicole made everything so simple and walked us through everything that we needed to get done. They worked very well with our coordinator and caterer. What you want from a venue is confidence that they will work to make your wedding day memorable, and we definitely got that. They even worked with us to split the cost of a great AC unit between all the weddings that weekend, which helped greatly to combat the crazy Texas summer heat. And of course, the venue is beautiful. There are different locations you can have the ceremony and reception. There are also good options in case there is rain. We definitely recommend you touring this venue and seeing if it's for you!

The best wedding venue, period.

As soon as we got engaged everyone asked when the wedding was, so my husband and I visited seven venues in the Austin area.

While other venue's asked about catering and floral, the Camino Real Ranch women asked, "why are you having a wedding?" This question allowed us to stop and remember why we wanted to celebrate with family and friends. That first conversation guided our wedding planning process. We are so thankful for a venue who did not just expect us to check the boxes.

The ranch is 25 minutes South of Austin and a pretty straight drive. Do you have guests traveling for your wedding? That quick drive past flat pastures and longhorn ranches reminds you that you're in Texas.

The venue is spacious and gorgeous. No need for complicated space flips or cramming people in when you can spread out wedding events through the hut, greenhouse, and yard. We had dinner outside, ceremony and reception in the greenhouse, the hut was a welcome area. I'd highly recommend setting the fire pit: we found a lot of guests socializing around the flames with s'mores.

Camino Real Ranch also has furniture available at no additional cost, which saved us a ton of money on tables and chairs. The farmhouse tables are gorgeous and there is no need for linens. (In a previous life I planned events and there is nothing as frustrating as being nickel and dimed over renting tablecloths!)

Jenn and Nicole are wedding veterans who were easy to work with and communicate clearly. When my mom got sick before the event, I rented her a golf cart so that she could have autonomy and get around the venue. Jenn and Nicole were flexible and worked directly with the vendor to support drop off/pick up. (P.S. the venue might feel like it's "out there," but an ambulance can get there in 15 minutes -- something the team looked into for my family.)

I will not miss wedding planning, but I will miss working with the Camino Real Ranch team. We love what they are building and can't wait to see what is next!

Growing up I dreamed of becoming a wedding coordinator. I would draw wedding designs for hours and watch Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey on repeat in the 2001 classic, “The Wedding Planner” (don’t let the Rotten Tomatoes reviews fool you!).

Instead I grew up to become a CPA and occasionally revisit my pipe dream until one day life found me at a crossroads. I rediscovered my childhood wedding sketches in some old attic boxes. The spark was reignited, the stars seemed to align, and suddenly I felt right where I was supposed to be.

From the first time I visited this property, I knew she was magic. She just needed a little life brought back into her.

I am so excited to share her with you all. Thank you for making my little girl dream a reality.

The Austin wedding industry has been my home away from home for the past decade. I started my photography business, Nicole Ryan Photography in 2010, and have loved watching Austin flourish and become a nationally renowned wedding hotspot over the years.

While photography will always be my first love, I have roots in hospitality and adore the idea of bringing this gorgeous venue to life. I share in Jenn’s romantic vision for Camino Real Ranch, and we strive to be the place where your love story begins it’s next exciting chapter.
