Our experience with Donna could not have been better. Our cake with as tasty as it was beautiful. We found Donna to be extremely easy to work with and accommodating. When we had questions she worked with us and offered suggestions for how we could make things happen vs. pushing an aggressive upsell. Donna is passionate about her work and wants her customers to be happy -- it's evident in the way she approaches her craft. I would 100% recommend Donna and hope there is an opportunity to work together again in the future.

Donna's cakes are beautiful, delicious, and a great value for the price! Finding a baker who makes amazing cakes for a reasonable price is difficult, but we were so happy when we found Donna that we booked her on the spot at our tasting! We went over to Donna's for a tasting, and had several delicious flavors to choose from, and ended up doing a different flavor for each tier, plus an extra sheet cake (the "fall spice" top layer was VERY popular and great for our October wedding.) On our wedding day, the cake looked exactly as I had described/shown her, and tasted as I remembered too! Donna also had us just ship our topper to her house so she had everything all set up at the reception (and one less thing for us to remember on the day.) As a plus - since we live locally on our 1 year anniversary Donna will make us a small cake so we didn't have to freeze the top layer for a year! We highly recommend Cakes by Marida! Cakes by Marida was one of my favorite experiences about wedding planning. I bake as a hobby and it truly is one of my passions therefore having both a delicious and beautiful cake for our wedding day was VERY important to me. I emailed Donna for an inquiry and she responded almost immediately. We then scheduled a tasting and I went to the tasting with my sister in law (my bridesmaid) who also loves sweets and we got to taste many of the cake flavors and her AMAZING/ONE OF A KIND strawberry buttercream. After the tasting, I decided immediately that I wanted Donna to bake our wedding cake, the tasting was that delicious! I decided for the All Chocolate cake and Vanilla with Strawberry Buttercream Cake, I loved the fact she made a two tier cake but there was plenty of sheet cake for the rest of our wedding guests. Donna was very nice through the whole process, she even allowed me to mail our cake topper straight to her house from the store I got it. I showed her wedding cake pictures from pinterest so she can understand what I was looking for and when I saw our wedding cake in person I was delighted with how beautiful it looked, it was even more beautiful than the pictures I showed her! Last but not least, I cannot wait to have our one year wedding anniversary cake!

Finding a wedding cake vendor was one of the most difficult aspects of planning our wedding. We were having a winter wedding and wanted a very wintery cake. We had the idea to serve a German Chocolate cake covered with a white buttercream made to look like snowy mountains. After visiting 6 other bakeries and being disappointed by cakes that were dry, overpriced, or covered with a grainy buttercream, we were so happy to find Cakes by Marida. Donna (the baker) made us a special tasting of german chocolate cake, along with about six other flavors. All of the cakes were moist and flavorful. Her buttercream was a true standout, light and not overly sweet. She was friendly and excited to try the design idea we had brought from pinterest, and she was also happy to provide allergy-friendly cupcakes for our dairy and nut-free guests. Finally, she was one of the most reasonably priced bakers we visited. We received so many compliments on the cake, with many of our guests going back for seconds and even thirds. And my husband and I loved the cake so much, we actually ate the leftovers for breakfast the next morning. Highly recommended!

Working with Donna was awesome! We got married in November and Donna made a three tier cake and all three layers were different flavors. She was so easy to work with and extremely flexible. At her cake tasting she had almost evert popular flavor available to try. There was one flavor combination my now husband and I really wanted to try but didn't get to so she offered to make us half a dozen cupcakes! Her cakes are delicious and fresh. We had so many compliments from our guests on how great our cake tasted! We went with her lemon with white chocolate raspberry filling, white with strawberry filling and the last tier was something she and I came up with which was so nice that she was open to trying to make something other than what was on her signature list. Donna was always responsive, let us ship our cake topper directly to her and will make us a complimentary one year anniversary cake! We can't wait. Donna truly emobdies professionalism, is so accommodating, skilled, and truly makes an amazing wedding cake and design! Our cake was stunning! We loved working with her and looking forward to our one year anniversary so we can experience her cake baking again!

I can't say enough about Donna Lovett, the owner. She was so helpful through email and did an amazing job! She is licensed to bake out of her home and it was by far the best tasting we went to. She helped us figure out how to save money! We ended up doing a two tiered cake and a groom's sheet cake. It fed 100 people and we had leftovers. The cake was not only beautiful, but so yummy! I can't wait for our one year anniversary, so we can get our fresh cake topper.

WE loved our wedding cake made by Donna!! The cake tasting was amazing and she was very accommodating! We told her a general idea of what we wanted our cake to look like but she listened to what our entire wedding theme would be and made the most beautiful and absolutely delicious cake! I can't lie, we're still enjoying the last pieces a week after our wedding!

Donna was a pleasure to work with. After trying a few different places, I immediately knew I wanted to have Donna make my wedding cake after our cake tasting appointment. She was very accommodating and worked with me to create exactly what I had in mind. We had a two-tier cake, the top tier was lemon cake with white chocolate mousse with a thin layer of raspberry filling and the bottom tier was white cake with the same filling. The cake was beautiful, more than I had envisioned, and it was delicious. I really enjoyed working with Donna and I am looking forward to getting a free cake at our anniversary!
