Horrid experience with Brokken images photography
‼️Review—Extremely Disappointing Experience with Brokken Images Photography in CDA, Idaho
Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆
We hired Ashleigh and a second photographer at Brokken Images Photography for our wedding on October 18th and, unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of a disaster. From poor communication to terrible image quality and a lack of accountability, I feel obligated to warn other couples who may be considering this photographer.
1. Delayed Delivery of Final Images
Our contract stated that we would receive our final images within 4-5 weeks, Ashleigh delivered more than the 500 photos later than the contract stated to try and make up for lost photos, only to see most were people eating dinner extra photos of Shane that I can’t use and blurry photos of people dancing and just multiple of the same low quality photo. (Photos that not one person would look at again) I never asked for these to be sent in the first place to try and make up for lost photos because we agreed to send what she had meaning the best 500 because that was what the contract stated and then discuss a refund from there.
2. Missing All Key Photos
The photographer lost all of the bride's portraits, getting-ready shots, bridesmaids and crucial posed photos with our bridal party, families, and groomsmen, flower girl. Not one photo was sent to us where I or the bridal parties are looking straight at the camera. To make things worse, several important ceremony photos were also missing, or have many people’s heads in the way of the photo, Or Have the officiants face in every photo because they were taken from the side/ second photographer. Our first kiss photo our lips are not even touching in the photo. We were left with a huge gap in our memories of the day. The only decent images we received were 1-2 sunset photos of the bride and groom, but even those were pixelated and dark.
3. AI-Generated Photos and Alterations
In an attempt to compensate for the missing images, the photographer sent us photos that appeared to be edited with AI. These were not only poor quality, but in some cases, our faces were completely altered. She produced 3-4 images that didn’t even resemble us. These were not acceptable substitutes for real, genuine photos of our wedding day.
4. Refund Issues
We reached out to the photographer to express our frustration and request a refund. We asked for a specific amount to cover the lost memories and poor-quality images, but the photographer only offered us $1,500 out of the $5,000 we had paid, which took several months to get back. We paid for Ashleigh to take our photos and her expertise with editing and only got photos from her second photographer from that day.
We requested $3,500 back originally. This was nowhere near enough to compensate for the many issues we faced.
5. Unprofessional Communication
When we communicated our concerns, the photographer accused my husband of being “hostile” in her text messages. We have proof of these exchanges, and it was completely uncalled for. Our only goal was to express our disappointment and seek a resolution, yet she dismissed us as being “emotional.”
6. Payment Issues
Throughout the process, the photographer repeatedly asked if we could pay early — even before the terms of the contract were due. This was not only inconvenient but raised questions about the photographer's professionalism.
7. Other 1-Star Reviews
In hindsight, we found other 1-2 star reviews from couples who had similar issues with Brokken Images Photography. They reported missing photos and poor-quality work. We should have done more research before committing.
— As a cherry on top, Ashleigh then as a “thank you” actually edits 13 photos of some of the only good photos we had that she used for her own advertising on Facebook.
Isn’t that why I paid someone $5000 is to edit every photo she took from that day. Not just the only ones she was personally going to use for advertising.
Conclusion
Overall, we were left with a huge sense of regret after choosing Brokken Images Photography. The key moments from our wedding are now gone, and what we were left with were poorly edited, AI-altered images. If you value the memories of your special day, I strongly encourage you to do thorough research and read reviews before booking any photographer.
Sometimes not everything can be “according to the contract” just because you give someone a lot of low quality photos and fulfilled your “contract” dosnt make it right or okay.
‼️Tip: Before booking a wedding photographer, make sure you read a range of reviews, and don’t hesitate to ask detailed questions about their experience, editing style, and backup plans for missing or lost photos. Protect yourself and your memories.
