BRAVO-Live DJ

Dean Cornell has risen quickly through the BRAVO Live DJ ranks! A WVU Class of 2020 graduate, with a BS in Finance… it’s easy to surmise that Dean has a good head on his shoulders. When you couple that with his strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to be “team player” no matter what it takes… then you have a true Super Star in the making!

Outside of his time in Morgantown, attending WVU, Dean is a lifelong resident of Huntington, WV. His parents both attended Marshall University, and stayed in Huntington ever since. Fun fact: Dean’s pride and joy is his “spoiled” dog, Mike.

If you’d like to meet a guy that would literally do anything for someone that he considers a friend (or even for his client), look no further than Rhys Rogers! Being a “team builder” is what he’s all about… and Rhys is one of the most valuable assets to the BRAVO Live DJ family.

Rhys bleeds green, as a die-hard Marshall University Alum. He actually started DJ’ng around Marshall’s campus in 2012. This was long before Rhys earned his B.S. in Business Management in 2015… and certainly before receiving his MBA in 2019 (all from “The Herd”).

Although Rhys was born and raised in a small Greenbrier County town… he’s been a staple in the DJ scene around Huntington, WV - where he resides, for the last 9 years. Outside of making people dance and party with his upbeat musical style… Rhys is keeps himself busy by serving his community, and younger Marshall students, via his continued involvement with the fraternity: Alpha Sigma Phi.

Since he bought his first set of turntables in 1997, the resume of Charlie Blac’s DJ career has become far too long for us to do it justice in this short bio. Suffice it to say, if you know anything about the West Virginia DJ industry over the last 20+ years, then you’ve at least heard of Charlie Blac. There aren’t many modern day mobile DJ’s who started out as a true, old school “turntablists”…but Charlie is one the last of a dying breed.

From his humble beginnings as a major player in the 90’s local hip-hop scene; to becoming one of the most sought after dance club DJ’s; to being a staple performer on Charleston’s 98.7 “The Beat; to taking his show on the road & transforming himself into one of the region’s top Wedding DJ’s… Charlie Blac has not only done it all, but he’s done so with excellence every step of the way!

Originally from St. Albans, and a 2014 Marshall University graduate, Charlie has resided in Scott Depot for the last 4 years. He, and his wife of 11 years, Christine, have three amazing children: Sam, who is age 9; and twins Quinn & Collis, who are age 2. And we can’t forget about the family pet – a dog named Tuffy! Christine & Charlie met at the storied “Sam’s Uptown Café” in Charleston, (but no, that is not where their eldest son got his name, LOL). Charlie’s favorite thing about Christine is “how much she cares about other people.”

Logan Barcus has one of the most unique entries into the BRAVO Live DJ family. The first time we met Logan, he was actually the groom at a wedding we were DJ’ing! He fell in love the quality of work, energy, and professionalism of the BRAVO Live DJ at his own wedding. Couple that with his passion for music and natural talent – and the rest is history! Logan has become one of our most beloved team members… he has a knack for becoming fast friends with our clients, and they are equally quick to offer up a positive review of his performance.

Logan, and his wife of 4 years – Madison, have been residents of Ironton, OH for several years now. Another “fun fact” is that, believe it or not, these two lovebirds met on Snapchat! They are both animal lovers, and have two wonderful dogs: Axel & Arlo. Logan says his favorite thing about Madison and their marriage is just how much fun they have when spending time together.

We’re always looking to identify talent, and recruit the absolute best all around “people” to our BRAVO Live DJ family. However, it’s not often that we come across someone with such a perfect combination of vast DJ experience, similar core values, and a shared mindset on how a wedding ought to be managed - from a DJ standpoint. So when we were referred to Paul Breeding as someone we may want to bring on board… it was a no-brainer!

Paul is a lifelong resident of southeastern KY, more specifically residing in Ashland these last 4 years. He’s been married to his sweet, beautiful, supportive wife, Adra, for 7 years… and believe it or not – they met on Facebook! Paul beams when speaks of Adra, because he says she makes their marriage fabulous by just being “so easy to get along with.” Talk about relationship goals!

Between the two of them, Paul & Adra have 3 children that came along with their marriage: Heather, Courtney & Dalton. And boy, do they love animals! There’s Ruger, the dog. Four cats: Appa, KittenCat, Bengal… and the “outsider,” Boo. This is where it gets really interesting. They even have a hedgehog name Evie!

Christy is the glue of BRAVO Live DJ. She is the one who keeps things running smoothly both for our DJ family, and our amazing clients! From keeping in constant communication with our upcoming brides and corporate clients, to preparing our DJ’s for their next event by relaying vital information about the needs and expectations of said clients – Christy wears many hats. But her dedication to making it happen, no matter the challenge… makes her invaluable to our team! Whether she’s wearing her Event Coordinator hat; or her Office Manager hat… Christy maintains a “whatever it takes” attitude. And that’s exactly what her position requires!

Working with, and being married to co-owner, Josh Ruby, doesn’t come without its challenges. But they’ve learned to love the extra time they spend together…and enjoy working on the business projects they share. Having met by mere chance, in a hospital waiting room, in 1992 – Josh & Christy were quickly lovestruck teenagers! But now they’ve been married for 24 years, and have four amazing children, three boys & one girl – ranging in age from 20, 16, 16, & 7 years old. (Two of their kiddos were adopted, so no, the two 16 year old’s aren’t twins by birth… although they certainly act the part).

Christy is a Hurricane, WV native with deep roots in the area… her father being “Coach Billups” of Hurricane High School for 38 years. However, she’s lived in Scott Depot these last few years, alongside her self-described “best friend,” Josh. And they lived happily ever after!
